I mix it with a packet of Emer'gen-C, which is a yummy orange/tangerine fizzy drink mix that the lady who used to do my colonics gives her clients after a colonic treatment. It contains 1,000 mg Vitamin C, 500 mg Glucosamine & 400 mg Chondroitin. It masks the bitterness of the MSM completely ;)

I probably drink a couple gallons of water every day because it's my beverage of choice. I only use a cup of water w/my MSM concoction, but then I follow that with 16-20 oz of water.

No side effects from taking it; all heck breaks loose w/the premenstrual breakouts if I backslide and forget to take it for a couple of weeks

It was recommended by a nurse practitioner for joint stiffness/aches .. it took care of that and my hair growth skyrocketed as a side effect

I'm not consistent enough to get into the hair vitamins/potions/etc., because I'd eventually stop using them, but MSM is beneficial in so many ways I put a lot of effort in using it regularly.

I just put a teaspoon of the powder on my tongue and quickly chase it down with a glass of O.J.- I'm not sure if it will matter if it is diluted in a glass of O.J or taken staight, it shouldn't really matter though. I take Jarrow Formulas powder. I got it at a local store called Health Quest. HTH :)

Always orange juice or lemon water... something with Vitamin C to aid absorption.

Anywhere between 8 and 12 glasses a day.. I love lemon water.

Currently taking Jarrow, thinking about switching to Carlson Laboratories.

No aching joints from past injuries, softer hair and I'm sure some other internal benefits that I just don't notice as much.

I take Biotin, Spirulina, Olive Leaf Extract daily and HF37 Step Two on occasion.
9. What was your original reason for starting MSM?
My gymnastics coach recommended MSM to me when I was about 12 or 13 for my joints because I was being very demanding of them. I stopped competing because of injuries but I attribute my relatively pain-free body today to MSM and the regular practice of yoga.
 
This thread has inspired me to try MSM flakes. My seasonal allergies have been getting progressivley worse, and my knees are acting up after workouts. It sounds like MSM can help with both of those ailments. Faster hair growth would be an added bonus!:)
 
I just started taking 1,000 ml of MSM yesterday. Thanks Hairgasm.
I am taking it for pain mostly but I hope it clears my skin and helps my hair out too.
I hope to up my dosage to 2,000ml after about 2 weeks. I want to ease my way into so my body can adjust.

Any new updates from the ladies that started in the beginning of the year?
 
Headaches!!! or should I say migraines made me slow down. I'm going to start again in the new year. but just not take soo much maybe 2000mgs is good enough for me. I had so much more energy and my overall health fealt better. I just couldn't stand the headaches.

I stopped taking my MSM powder for about a week and my face broke out so bad!!!!! :mad: Needless to say, I'm back on it!

I tried the powder mixed in water or OJ and it was wretched so I now have the pills and am starting today.

Progress: I began taking MSM in January (and silica in March) of this year and have noticed that now my skin is clearer and hair is thicker. It's definately a keeper for me.

Helped significantly with allergy symptoms. Broke out at first during initial detox, but now smooth skin. Regularity. Significant decrease in PMS symptoms/pain. Decreased knee pain. Hardened my soft nails. Increased energy. Apparent increased hair growth and slight texture change.

Initial breakouts but then skin was clearer. My skin tone has improved and has a more "golden" look to it. Its done wonders for my joints and easing the arthritis already developing in my hands. Much softer hair and it might have changed my texture alittle. Extremely heavy periods :(

My original reason was for softer hair and to aid in hair growth. But even if it had no effects on my hair at this point i'd still continue to take it because of the joint pain relief.

I wanna know about this whole curl loosening business. What's up? Does the curl stay loose or does it tighten back up (on the existing hair) once you stop taking MSM? Anybody from the original posts still taking MSM?

I need to get back on my MSM. I still haven't finished my bottle of Distilpure.
I love MSM for it's cleansing properties.

I usually take a tablespoon at night chased down with some juice.
