I set up an appointment with this hair clinic for tommorrow morning my friend at work told me about it. This clinic specializes in healthy hair, no perms only straight combing. They don't use heat to dry the hair I heard that they just use cool air. She also told me that they set up a hair portfolio (something like a fotki) to monitor your progress. The lady on the phone told me that it may cost anywhere between $45-$65 depending on the condition of my hair. Has anyone been to this clinic or heard anything about it? If so do you all think its even worth me going or should I just continue to do my own hair?

Please let me know how you like them. I live in Oakland County and will gladly travel on occasion for a treat if it's worth it.

I've never heard them. I'm sure they will have your hair growing. Be sure to let us know your results and come back to the boards and post. If, he's good I will be there to visit him too.

Happy Hair Growing!!!!

My mom has been going to them for the last five or six years and her hair is very healthy. The first time I went natural was in 2002 and my Mom decided to go natural as well. Shortly there after she started going to Mr. John's. And her hair has never been healthier (or longer) She's in her 60's too.

They are very regimented and make some of their own products. They are serious abut no chemicals, including color (so her hair is gray, which is the only thing I don't like about them). They stress that you need to roll and tie your hair up at night and use oil on the ends. Very little brushing or combing is recommended.

They will actually charge you more as your hair gets longer. I guess their philosophy is if you win, they win.

Do you have a phone number for this place? I looked up the numbers online and two numbers were no good. I heard they sell BBD Stretch. Plus I can check them out to see techniques and such....

Thanks in advance!

I had been going to them as a kid, ever since elementary school and they are excellent. (Mr. John himself used to curl my hair... Rest his soul). They are friendly and very professional and I noticed my hair grow a ton! As a matter of fact, I haven't had hair that long since (APL). But anyway, the only downfall was that it took sooooo long for them to see you. I remember waiting in the waiting room for long periods of time and becoming very restless (but then again, I was young so maybe it was just impatience). But other than that, I vouch for them! They were amazing and my hair looked amazing.
