Moisturizers without water?

Can any of you recommend a moisturizer that does not contain water as an ingredient? I was wondering because being that I stretch, when I get my new growth straight, I still need to moisturize and if I use one that has water in it, my ng will revert.

I've been using Profectiv Healthy Ends and just oil on my scalp because of this same problem

I don't have a perm but I blow my hair straight. What I do when I use a water based moisturizer is mix it with a coconut oil/castor oil grease just to give it a stronger base - that eliminates any reversion issues.
I've been using Cantu Shea Butter and I have no problems. The only one that gave me slight reversion issues was NTM leave in, but when I mix them with some oil, I don't seem to have that issue

Well, that's a tough question because there is no such thing as a moisturizer that does not contain water. The water component is what makes the product hydrating or moisturizing.

What you can do is find a moisturizer with a LOW water content, that won't revert your hair. Mizani Rose H2O conditioning headdress is a product that is great for that. Also, like some of the other ladies have suggested, adding more of an oil base to your current moisturizer will lessen the effect of the water on your hair. I use the Mizani Rose H2O creme for those times when I need to moisturize my rollersets and flatironed hair without reversion. I can't use my regular moisturizer (Ors olive oil) becuase the water content is too high.

A moisturizer that does not contain water. Water is the ultimate moisturizer. I only use my daily moisturizer on my ends. So when I have 12-14wks it's not a problem because I only comb through it on wash day.

I've been using shea/aloe sealed with coconut oil lately and my hair's moisturized. Just wondering if it's still moisturized from washing and deep cond. everyweek??? Or is there some water in the shea aloe or coconut oil even though it's not listed on the label?

I don't know what the water content is but these are very thick. They do not revert my texlaxed flatironed hair AT ALL.

I have some moisturizers that do and I can tell the difference now.

I find that the thicker creamier ones do not revert like the thinner, watery ones.

Thats a good point I begining to think that daily moisturizing my hair is just a waste of product and a hairstyle. My hair is fine and product just ways it down. Also my hair never really feels dry if I condition it right. I always moisturized daily just cause I thought that was what i was supposed to do.
