Are you new here? Welcome to the board! /images/graemlins/smile.gif I want to try Mizani myself. Affirm appears to be more popular than the Mizani among the board members, but I too would like to hear some reviews on this relaxer as well. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
My hair stylist used the Mizani mild hair relaxer on my hair. My hair was very smooth and straight. She has also used Affrim and Sensitive by Nature relaxers which gave me great hair results.
i used mizani before and I was way too strong for my hair. I used it in regular strength and it caused some damage. I only left it in 15 mins so this relaxer must work super quick. BTW my hair is 4a/b
I'm a Mizani Relaxer user (no-lye). In fact my retouch was yesterday (12 wk). My hair turned out great! Straight, soft, shiney and no burns! The only difference in this retouch is that I saturated my hair and scalp with gel caps containing essential oils---SEBA 100% Natural Deep Moisturizing Capsules (another item found under cabinet /images/graemlins/wink.gif). My hair turned out softer than usual, more moisturized. Since I'm a no-lye girl, saturating my hair with ess. oils or evoo before my retouch will be a part of my regimen.
Yes Pebbles I am new here. I am really not into online chats but this is cool... But as far as relaxer goes i normally use Creme of Nature or PCJ kiddie relaxer but at this point intime I am trying to find then perfect relaxer something that i can stick with through the long haul... I did try the Mizani relaxer 4 days a go and so far so good... right now my length is abit longer than Halle Berry's, More Like Mandy Mooore... same style and everything..I am trying to grow my hair out...as long as possible so i just started a routine... My hair grows pretty fast so I am anxious because this time I am not cutting it... or putting anything in my hair to disrupt it's growth

I have been using Mizani for a year now. My hairdresser change it from Affrim b/c I have color in my hair and she said tht its better on color treated hair .I am not sure on what type of texture I have I think that is is 4a. I get a perm every 4-5 weeks and its not b.c of the Miziani my hair just grow fast. I hope I answer your question /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Although my hair seems to respond well to just about any relaxer (as long as I'm not the one applying it), Mizani is probably my favorite. My hair looks freshly relaxed for the longest with Mizani.
I've had good results with Affirm (although a tad drying for some reason) and Precise too. I'm not really picky about relaxers but Mizani's the best.
That's great to hear. /images/graemlins/smile.gif I have a cousin that uses Mizani, and her hair is absolutely gorgeous. She started using it about 2 years ago, and doesn't use anything else. I'm still looking for that one relaxer that I will stick with forever and never switch from. /images/graemlins/look.gif
Currently I'm using the Optimum Rx. It's o.k, but it doesn't blow me away, you know? I want to have a relaxer put in my hair and leap out of the seat with joy from the results. That's really what I want. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
I knoow what you mean, Like I said before, I was using Creme of nature and a kiddie perm but I wanted to try something different... I felt like so old school..and being that there are so many new products out now I felt it was time but I was worried and still am because I see alot of girls with long hair but, very stringy, and that scares me... I am growing out a halle cut, i have nice abundance of hair and I want to keep it like that
omg that is what i am worried about that stringy straggly looking hair. i wanted to switch to affirm but i am so worried because i have seen so many girls who's hair looked like it was straightened passed expiration. i do want my hair straight but not cling to my scalp and never move or swing or sway straight. mild doesnt do it for me. i have to hear the reviews before i make my mind up. God bless you all.

[/ QUOTE ] That look is usually from overprocessed hair. If the relaxer is put in properly and the correct strength is used, that shouldn't happen. It's amazing how many women are running around with over processed hair and don't know it. /images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I just used this for my touch up last week and so far I'm loving it!!! This is definitely a keeper for me....until the p.j. in me comes out again /images/graemlins/blush.gif
Rayne,
Oh ok, well you know it's not good to keep switching relaxers, I heard it's best to stick to one thing... I have been a P.J. for years now and I have finally just recently settled into repetative products...Nexxus and Sebastian,,, I just tried Mizani Relaxer and I think I'm going to stick with it also
I've also heard that it's not good to switch relaxers but, I have to. I can't use the same brand of relaxer for a long time because it evenutally stops working for me. I don't know why that is, but I've had this problem for as long as I can remember. It can be frustrating because I'll find a brand that I love, but I'll have to change because it didn't do anything for my hair /images/graemlins/frown.gif I'm hoping that I won't have that problem with Mizani....especially since I have a 4lb tub!!
I just started with Mizani as well and I like it. I will be getting my touchup next Thursday and Mizani will be applied for the 2nd time. I hear the whole line is pretty good. My next purchase will be the Moisturefuse conditioner.
Tammy,
please let me know how it turns out, so far I like it too..I hate relaxers that make your hair lifeless, Ilove body,,lots of it.. That's what I'm looking out for
