Heeeeyyy everyone!

I'm a newbie who needs help figuring out her hair. I don't know WHY last week I decided to straighten my already weak natural hair but I did(process included wash, deep con, blow dry(I used Chi straight guard cream before blow drying),lightly pressed hair with electric pressing comb, flat iron with chi(used a bit of Chi Silk Infusions and sprayed Chi Iron Guard on each section of hair)) and I got my hair pretty straight. The problem is I sweat VERY easily, especially on my head and face and within a DAY my hair was over and done with. Being that I usually wear my hair natural people were LOADING me down with compliments about how cute my hair was straight so after going out that night and sweating my hair out I did the entire process again but I had to end up going somewhere so I tied a scarf on my blow-dried hair in the back and meticulously flat ironed the sides and front of my hair WITHOUT heat protectend( I didnt like how sticky it made my hair:wallbash: )
So the next day instead of finnishing my hair I just decided to co wash it(I'm semi against shampoo) and in the shower instead of swelling and getting curly like it usualy does it STAYED STRAIGHT....I was horrified. At first I thoguht all the product wasnt out so I even shampoo'd(with nexxus therappe) and all I had were the HORRIBLE waves;some even with straightish ends. I almost took sissors to my entire head! I know there is no way back from head damage so now I just want to know how to make my hair THICKER and healthier. My hair feels SO THIN now and when its dry it feels fuzzy. It's so odd. It's been about a week since the whole straightning fiasco and my has no straight ends...and the waves are deeper but its still not back to normal...its like my hairs tight curls got relaxed a bit...sigh....

In addition to all of that I have huge BALD spots in my crown and one bald spot on my left and on the right. I assume they are from stress. I did my reseach on MN and have started apply it mixed with jojoba oil, evvo, doo groo mega growth oil, and lisas hair exlir twice a day starting last night...I hope it helps my spots. I'm a broke college student so when I get some more money I'm going to order some MT. Any other suggestios for me?

Here is the link to my fotki... http://public.fotki.com/MissNeeNee/disaster!!!!!!!/the alblum is tittled disater and he pword is in my profile. I'm still adding decriptions to each pic but when you see my bangs straight the in the alblum the pics AFTER that are how my hair looks now due to damage.....but due to a lot of babying you will see that my bald spot has started to fill in a bit.

THANKS FOR READING ALL OF THIS

xoxo MissAnnisha

Welcome to LHCF!!!

Lay off the heat. You need to clarify, DC with a good moisturizing deep conditioner such as Biolage Hydratherapie and give your hair a break. Your hair needs all the moisture it can get. Moisturize every day seal with JBCO.

Thanks for the tips! What is JBCO?

Hey Annisha gurl!!!! Welcome to LHCF...........I have that pin in your hair! isnt it lovely!......anyway it sounds like you need some protein.....what your reggie?

I agree that your hair needs lots of moisture now. And be sure to use those oils to help seal in the moisture. If it makes you feel better, my curls are always looser than normal after flat ironing my hair. It usually takes two washes before my hair is completely back to normal.

Thanks Tanisha...I heart that pin! But yeah I will make sure and up the protein....I DC once a week and I will use a protein rich one.

But I have yet another problem I forgot to mention...that that my hair is horribly wavy and gross I have NO CLUE how to style it...I use Cantu Repair Leave in and mix mine with jojoba oil, castor oil and evvo every day after I co wash and it just lays there looking horrid. I think I'm about to retire this Cantu crap anyway....it kinda makes my hair feel dry when it dries but its cheap and all I can afford right now...any suggestions?

Welcome to LHCF. Sorry that happened to you. I am not a natural so I don't profess to be an expert on your issue. But i would since you have damaged and permanent colored hair to stay away from heat at least until you grow your color out. Did you have your flat iron on a high setting? None-the-less I would recommend deep conditioner treatments and add daily moisture.

I love Cantu Shea Butter leave in repair cream. But I find that if I use it too much, or if I use it without first using a leave-in conditioner than my hair tends to be dry. I would also make sure that you clarify at some point if you use Cantu on a regular basis b/c it can build up (which would be a problem for you since you mainly cowash and don't shampoo). I shampoo 1-2x/week so I find that cleanses my hair well enough to keep the Cantu from building up.

You need to find something that defindes your curls. Try anti frizz by jonn freda. If you go on http://www.naturallycurly.com/ you can find alot of info on natural curly hair HTH

I have a regular Chi so it was just turned on....just an on and off switch. And thanks for the welcome and the tips :) And I am in the midst of growing my color out...I can tell the difference in texture from my colored hair not the new growth coming out of my head...its thicker and stronger looking

I am not natural but hair is hair. If I were you I would probably get some box braids for a couple of months and just let my hair rest. You can deep condition the braids every week and you will see in a couple months you hair will thrive... I've done this and I am actually doing it now and I always love the results. Just my opinion. Hope it helps.

I agree with everyone that says you need moisture. As far as the wavy hair, if you look in my fotki you will see that the front of my hair is straight, slightly wavy, and I have just learned how to deal with it. It's irritating at least you know your hair will get it's curl back I'm stuck with my straight hair forever. My password is hair.

Your hair looks like mine! I have been babying my crown with some emu oil each night, that can be pricey but you could use the castor oil or a less expensive oil like coconut or even olive oil. I have found that on my hair with color that I was growing out, it was VERY protein sensitive, it broke off when I used conditioners with too much wheat protein--so you might want to be careful with that.

Since you are on a budget...I would put my hair in 2 strand twists. (I have also added an MSM pill it is less than 5 for a bottle of 100 with 1000mg). Even though my hair is REALLY thin on top, I styled my twists such that they cover that section with a couple of clips to hold the longer twists over it. This keeps you from manipulating your hair and gives it a chance to recover. Plus, I know how stressful it can be to try and "get your hair back" to the way it was before you damaged it, but you have what you have now and you cannot go back and undo what you did.

Forgive yourself and move on! You are a beautiful young woman--YOU ARE NOT YOUR HAIR.

Thank you so much for this reply....I am a "hair" type of girl(aren't we all lol) and it has been a stuggle seeing my hair in this state. But hopefully I can get it going back in the right direction thanks to all of you wonder women!
