Miss Jessies Super Sweetback Treatment

bumping to see if anyone else has tried Super Sweetback since this thread was started? I saw lexiwiththecurls and Empressi's reviews elsewhere....

So far, I've tried the Creme de la Curl, Creme de la Creme, and Curly Meringue for braidouts. I like those three products. I have 2 oz sizes of Curly Buttercreme and Baby Buttercreme, but I haven't tried them yet.....

I tried a sample of the Super Sweetback treatment. I think the difference between Super Sweetback and Rapid Recovery is that RR has protein and SS does not, but I could be wrong.

I actually tried both and both made my hair soft. I did not like the smell of Super Sweetback. It has a strong cherry smell. I used SS with heat for 30 minutes, then followed with a leave-in conditioner. I used Curly Meringue and did a braidout that came out nice and fluffy and soft. I probably would not buy a full size of SS because of the price and smell, but it did work well.

I absolutely love Curly Meringue and I have a big jar of it that's almost empty. I also like Stretch Silkening Creme. It has the softest hold of the styling cremes that I've tried. I returned the Super Slip Sudsy shampoo. It just didn't seem like anything special to me. It did provide slip, though.

BTW, Miss Jessie's has free shipping on orders over $30 right now.

An alternative to Miss Jessie's is Uncle Funky's. They have similar products for a similarly high price, but more natural ingredients.

Old thread but had to throw this in. I had not used the Sweet in a long time so decided to try it this weekend. Smells nice to me but the next day my hair had many locked parts which I released with coconut oil and Knot Today. Not for me anymore.:nono:

I'be tried both, i prefer the sweetback treatment but it is still 'meh'. I still have half of both and i bought them this time last year :-/. For me nothing beat some cheap ol' LeKair cholesterol, that makes my 4c hair feel like butter.
