Mini-twists on short hair...

Happy Sunday ladies; I am going to attempt my first set of mini twists on my very short 4A/4B hair. I have chin/neck length hair and I know I need to stretch my hair out (which I am doing right now via braids that will air dry overnight) but is it even feasible? Has anybody attempted mini twists on very short natural hair? Any suggestions, tips, etc?

(also tips on maintaining them would be nice)

I did. Just stretch hair in braids--which is how I always do--and then twist and then I'd wet them and let them dripdry to get them to hang down instead of standing up. I loved them and called it my dreadlock look:

If you put large rollers on them when damp and let them dry in the rollers you can create the big curls style I discovered by accident absolutely loved but hubby absolutely hated and said it looked like "tarantulas" Behold my awesome tarantula do.

Good thing I know when something looks good and don't wait for others to tell me. I personally think the style is FIYAH ​
