Hi ladies,

Is anyone still using this for hair growth? Or did everybody switch to MTG? Any bad experiences? I was think about trying it for my edges.

I still use this. I alternate using this at 2 week intervals. I use MTG for 2 weeks.... then M.N. for 2 weeks.

Im pleased with the results. I get about 1/2"-3/4" per month, with no adverse side effects......

Can someone explain how to apply this? Isn't this for yeast infections?

Well it comes in a tube.... so when I apply i simply squeeze some onto my finger and massage into the scalp. Different folks have different ways of applying.... i know some women mix the M.N. into their essential oil cocktail.

Yes, Miconazale Nitrate is the active ingredient found in Monistat. It is an antifungal cream, and can be found in all types of over-the-counter creams, such as Athlete's Foot cream, etc..... I personally dont buy the Monistat cream because it is very expensive! I buy the plain M.N., which tends to be a little cheaper. I ordered mine from eBay.

Soror, if you do a search you'll find a whoole lot more info.... including the good, the bad, and the ugly! Im sure all of your questions will be answered. :)

Thanks! I would've NEVER thought to use that.....

I've decided to leave it alone. I have been sickly the past couple of years and don't want to add any unnecessary factors. However, I still believe that it can grow your hair due to the antimicrobial actions of the cream. I've just decided to look for natural alternatives.

i think ill try this b4 i go with the MTG only because its cheaper and i need to start somewhere with my thin/balding spots

I am with you. I am not sickly, but I just stopped using it.

It does help hair grow faster, I saw proof of that. But, I just decided to let my hair do its thing w/o any help. I will see how this goes.

But, if I ever have any problems like alopecia or something, I know where I can go for a little help. :)

Honeydew,

Do you know anyone that had a bad experience from it? I just want to put it around the edges not all over my head. I can wait for the rest of my hair to grow on it's own. I remember it was alot of talk about it awhile ago then it just stopped so I wasn't sure if people had a bad experience. Do you like MTG better? I'm natural, and if I put oil on my scalp my hair is so flat, I usually wear it down, I'm more concerned about healthy hair than length.

How do you style your hair during the week you use mtg, and how do you apply it? Mtg is so oily and the smell even with essential oils doesn't help too much. I would like to start back with both products but I hate oily hair.

I wear a bun every day, so the oiliness isnt an issue for me. If i wore my hair down though, it would be a major problem!

I notice your sig says you love henna, how often do you use it? I want to try the clear one, I just started going to a dominican salon a week ago, I don't want to do my own hair yet, but I'm dying to try henna.

There were some people that said they got headaches, there were also those that never got headaches. I am not sure if I got headaches from MN, it was never obvious that any headaches I ever got were a result of MN use.

I prefer MN over MTG because I cannot deal with the smell of MTG.
