Men are like Boomerangs: They Always Come Back

Has this been true in your life?

Do you usually take them back or tell them thanks but no thanks?

Why do guys seem to also go back to a previous girl (dating or more) and try to spark a flame again? Whats up with that!!!

This was the situation between my ex & I for a minute and once I realized he would never leave me alone and I didn't have the strength to continue resisting his advances I went mean mode!

I said some really ugly things to him and so far I haven't heard from him. Sadly I feel better, but yea you're right if u were good to them and offered them the gift of silence on their way out the door, they'll always return. :yep:

In MY experience, I'd say women are more like boomerangs. I've been there - I'm saying its over, until I get bored/lonely/horny/nostalgic/hungry/tired/broke/_____.

...I mean, someone is always throwing and catching the boomerang, right?

I am going through this right now. He came back but he needs to show me what is going to be different before I can spend anymore of my time on him. I mean if I am going to be in the same situation I was in 6 months ago it is best that we just be apart.

In this sense, I'd say women are more the boomerang catchers than the boomerang itself.

My ex likes to pop up just to remind me that he exists. I've finally learned to stop acknowledging him. It's a sick power trip for him just to see if he still affects me. At this point I figure I have the upper hand so I might as well keep it by not entertaining him. Keeps my pride and peace of mind in tact.

Agreed.

I'm asking, what's the difference? He comes back around. We let him back around. Either way, we're back where we started (and at one time swore we'd never be again)...

Mine keeps calling me as well at least every month. I am like watcha want? It's kinda annoying with the invites to dinner and wanting to hang out. Funny how they want to step up to the plate after you are gone and not constant in their life. Seriously dude I have moved on.

ITA with this! Minus 1 or 2, every ex I have has tried to get back at me at one point or another. And funny thing is, the 1 who hasn't is the 1 I'd definitely talk to again #GoFigure

I usually don't respond (silent treatment KILLS) or I'm mean about the "leave me alone" thing. I'm a very tolerant person in general, so it takes a lot for me to cut someone off. If I cut you off, it was for a darn good reason. Therefore, I'm not very sympathetic lol

This is me to a T! Esp. the bolded.

This is my experience.
I've always told friends that I have a 99% 'come back' rate.

Exes, even people i've just talked to or dated, they ALWAYS come back...
the answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

either I broke up with you, or you broke up with me, but either way, it wasn't working,
and it won't work now!

The END

Yep, my return rate is about the same. They always try to come back in some capacity.

here is the answer to your why.

Man Law #199

"nothing like good honeypot unless it is new honeypot or (updated 2001) honeypot he had not have in a long time."

A man told me this except he used another word for honeypot.

I experience the same thing, matter of fact I had an ex call me yesterday and I gave him the boot a year ago. I looked at my phone thinking "what could you possibly want? If I haven't acknowledged any of your text messages or voicemail messages you send every few weeks what is so different about what I am going to do today?" Keep it moving, bro"

He is not the only that tries to make a guest appearance in my life after things don't work out. Sometimes, I think it is an ego thing, they are just trying to see if they still got it with you. There are other times when I think they regret their actions and want a second chance.

How do you decipher between the two?

Most that one back, I laugh like...umm...I'm an upgrader boo boo. Others and very few, manage to get my attention but it doesnt work out anyway. Before, I just stopped caring.

I think it's easier for people to return to what's familiar, even if that familiar is/was a scumbag unfortunately. That being said, I've had exes return and depending on how lonely/bored I was and how the breakup occurred I may entertain their thoughts for awhile.

Has this been true in your life? YES and it is sad. one of the donkey's came back yesterday.

Do you usually take them back or tell them thanks but no thanks? Honestly, in the past I accepted the attention, but not anymore. So many better things out there.

Why do guys seem to also go back to a previous girl (dating or more) and try to spark a flame again? Whats up with that!!! Either it has been allowed in the past OR they are hoping the girl falls for the okie doke.

Boys are dumb, men realize what they have and treasure it.

I think most men do come back, but it's usually for all the wrong reasons. Men like knowing that there is a woman (or women) out there who will drop everything to be with them. It's more of an ego boost for them than anything else.

Of 3 I've had 2 come back... and I've taken them back multiple times but ultimately the problems that were there in the first place were still there. So no more taking back ex's for me.

Mine had the nerve to call me and tell me he missed me (we were married for 13 years). Ninja please! I gave him the AMC movie treatment. Silence is golden.

He also had the nerve to say that I didn't call him and congratulate him because his team made it to the Superbowl. As if he had something to do with them getting there:ohwell:.
