Memphis, TN ladies

Hi Memphis Ladies!!! I learned so much from just reading this. I knew about Sally's, C & P, some of the local BSS's and the Indian Mart on American Way. That is waht networking and sharing is all about!!! :) Thanks Tishee for starting this thread.

np sweetie......anytime. glad to have helped.

Hey sweetie:wave:

Your hair is awesome! Do you mind me asking who did your installs? They look so gorgeous!

Hey Tishee!

Thanks!!It was done by Mel at Melody's Fine Hair (or something like that) over in the Appletree Center (facing the Walmarket).

Thanks sweetie for getting back to me! Once my hair grows a little longer(after the cut I am getting this month), I am going to get a full head sew in. Would it be okay if I email you then to get help with choosing the best hair? I saw the EP mentioned on BHM and it looks awesome.

Wow, I didn't realize there were so many LHCF members here in Memphis

Edited to answer the OP's original question - I usually just buy my hair products online or at Whole Foods on Poplar

no way.....I graduated from the U of M in 2006. Now, this is just too cool! Do you like CBU?

Oh cool!!!! She began going there in 2007. And I love it!!! Its such a good school and very close knit.

I went to CBU too  I loved that school. All my professors rocked! I should have just become a professional student so I could continue taking classes just for the heck of it.

Girl, i love it too. I have met so many cool people. I think i'm going to do my graduate studies there too.

You sure can! :-)

A little off topic and absolutely no help, but I grew up in Memphis and miss it a lot...Philly reminds me a little of Memphis, but the Schuylkill river has nothing on the mighty Mississippi. :)

All these neighborhoods you are mentioning are reminding me of home. :)

Oooh, Tishee!!!

I went to a new BSS (TJ's Beauty Supply, at the corner of Winchester & Hickory Hill behind the Backyard Burger) and girl, they have at LEAST 200 different wigs in there. The store is HUGE, and I'd say 60% of it is taken up with hair - wigs, and/or tracks, and/or phony ponys, and some stuff I couldn't even figure out - girl, they even had nappy wigs! You might want to check them out, if you are still having a hard time finding something.

JustKiya,

Is this across the street from the C&P bss?

tia,
tishee

Oops! I had the name of the Indian store wrong - it's called India Imports. I tried to go there last week, but they open at 11 am :look:, so I ended up wandering the aisles of Walmart before I had to be at work. I really need some rose water. I may head out there tomorrow before I go to work at 1:00.

FIB,

the rosewater that you purchase from the Indian store is rosewater the only ingredient?

tia,
tishee

SherylsTresses checking in...!!! :yep::rolleyes::yep::rolleyes:

I usually purchase my products from JC Penneys and smaller items from Golden BSS on Winchester near Quince.

i'm not from memphis but i'm close enough (holly springs) i visited this bss near Wolfchase a few weeks ago. i forgot the name. i think it was "Wig World" or something like that. but they were having their grand opening. i was like a kid in a candy store. it was huuuuuge! i just didn't have any money to blow off. but they have a wig section with an actual black wig specialist that helps u with the wigs. i can't wait to go back with some money i'll probably buy half the store.

I know the store you are talking about:yep:.....I go at least twice a month:grin:! Last weekend, they had no sales on anything that you purchased(of course, my dh told me once I had reached the checkout :wallbash::wallbash:). The name is VIP wig & beauty.

Just checking in to say Hi. I'm in the Cordova area. My main shopping spots have already been mentioned. (The Indian store on Trinity and Golden Beauty on Germantown.)

Don't forget about the Trade Secret and Sephora locations in Wolfchase Mall. If I can't find the salon product I'm looking for at Ulta, I can usually find it at the mall.

:hiya2: Happy New Year everyone...!!!

Nowadays I get my hair products from Farmers Market located at Winchester and Kirby Parkway. I purchase all my Dominican products from there. :yep:

Thank you so much:circle:

I am doing the happy dance. I love Dominican products, but I didn't know I could get them here. I may have to brave the cold tomorrow and check out the Farmers Market.:dance7:

I just visited Dominican Hair Styles/Martha's Hair Salon (a few stores to the left of Farmers Market) and purchased some Alter Ego Impact Garlic Conditioner for $22.00, Salerm-21 Protein Balsam Conditioner for $8 and got some freebies. This salon really does exist. :yep:

Ulta? Dominican Salons? Indian Stores? I had no idea we had all this in our city! All I thought we had were Sally's and the BSS! So sad to have found out about them after the start of my use-up-your-stash challenge:ohwell:
