Member images on Internet search

I just did a quick search on Google for "honey relaxed hair". KhandiB and Sunnieb's pictures were listed under images. There was no link for postings on the forum, just their pictures.

I don't like that honestly. It's the reason why I only allow the pictures showing my face to stay up for a few days then go and remove them. Someone posted a thread a few weeks ago about a website created to bashing members here and it made me really uncomfortable.

Im pretty careful about posting pics online period. My FB only has 1 pic showing my face.

Yes, I noticed that the other day.That is why my photos are in a private album only moderators and my contacts can see. SuchaLady the forum is public but if you are not a member to the forum you cannot see photos

I think you can go to your User CP to do that

True. Go to User CP, then look for Miscellaneous under the left side bar. If you click on Attachments you will see a list of all of the pictures you have attached.

I was just surprised to see the two images on their own - not within a thread or post for Long Haircare Forum.

I used 2b worried about posting face pics online, but now I don't care. Someone could take a pic of me w/o realizing it & post it online. I just hope I look good in the pics. I think with anything u do online, u have 2 assume that anyone can have access 2 it including us. Someone could save a pic that I post on a thread, before I could take them down.

I try to keep my intentions good whenever I post & whatever happens, happens. My friends & family know me, so if anything crazy ever comes from me posting pics here, I just hope it wouldn't offend them. Its like that saying "those that matter, don't mind & those that mind, dont matter".

Google images will come up for members here because we frequent this website. Lhcf images do not come up first for the "whole world". Google/cookies tracks your history (i.e. websites you frequent) and the search results will always post those images and websites as your first results.

I'm something like a techie and seriously don't consider the internet private. As mentioned, pages are cached and can be retrieved. The best way to remain completely anonymous is to never post. ETA: If we really want to be technical, lurking isn't private either as IP addresses can be tracked but this info is not available to the general public.
