So how do u apply the coffee grounds? Are these "used" coffee grounds? Do they rinse out well? Is the purpose to cut shedding? I'm interested to try this.
I blended used grounds from my k-cup into my prepoo treatment. I always mix my prepoo in the magic bullet even before the addition of coffee grounds.
I applied the prepoo in 4 sections, starting with my scalp first and used the coffee granules to scrub my scalp and lightly exfoliate. Then I applied the mixture to my length and ends, steamed with hand held steamer and twisting each section.
Ummm, they rinse out okay. But that's only because I rinse my hair at least four times during the wash process, once after each step. If some one only wishes to rinse once or twice I wouldn't use coffee grounds.
My purpose of using grounds instead of coffee was:
1. To exfoliate my scalp.
2. Decrease shedding
3. Not to add an additional step to my process, rather combine it with my prepoo which sits in my hair longest.
4. Smooth my ends...Since coffee grounds are slightly acidic, they really helped to smooth my cuticle and I felt this smoothing effect throughout my entire wash process. I never keep up with doing ACV rinses and the coffee seemed to do better job.
5. Color deposit...again added to my prepoo so I could reap the benefits of having it stay in overnight and enhance the color of my hair by depositing rich chocolate tones.
6. I didn't want to use coffee, because I do not like to wet my hair during the prepoo process other than with the use of steam. Too much wetness makes my hair difficult to detangle. Therefore I like to stick to oils, with a little conditioner.
Take always for next time...
1. Only use one k-cup. I used two.
2. Grind the grounds up alone before adding other products
