I guess setting that bad boy to 5/6 isn't such a great idea, huh? No wonder why my ends aren't as curly:lachen:

Thanks this is really good information. I don't remember what setting I used mine at when I had one, but with my current flat iron I never go higher than 300-325 so I don't damage my hair.

OP Thank You so much for this info. I MG'd on the 1st setting in December and thought even that might be a bit much!

So which is the correct temperature? there's a big difference between 430 and 383.

the highest temp i've ever used with the maxiglide is 2. normally i get great results at 1 or 1.5.

I've been using mine at a 5 with good results. I figured since it was right in the middle, it seemed ok.

It makes a big difference seeing the actual temp in numbers.

hmmm...I dunno the maxius website has the following info. on their FAQ page

feel free to contact them and see what type of response you get.It took them about a month to answer my question:spinning:

I am such a nazi when it comes to having straight roots. How is the Maxiglide for REALLY getting the roots bone straight? I am thisclose to buying one.

Vary interesting. I'm wondering about Sabino Moisture Block though, doesn't it require 400 to work? Food for thought...:look:

There is a huge difference in what they claim on the website and the actual temps.:perplexed

Just read this thread and bumping cause its great info. I tried straightening my hair on 6 and it laughed at the maxiglide. I did it a few days ago on 10 and it came out great but I was worried with the temp. 383 isnt bad.

I usually straighten at 3-4, and thought I was doing something, but know I'll try to step it down to 2 or even one. Though, I haven't had any set backs so far, I don't want to tempt the heat damage fates

Oh wow! I just used mine for the first time 3 days ago. I wondered what the numbers on the dial meant. I used it on 5 and then turned it up to 6. I won't do that again. :perplexed: For the ladies who use it at 1-2, do you do very small sections? How do you use the steam feature? It got my hair straight, but I need to get the hang of the technique.

I have been seriously contemplating on investing in a maxius iron. Have you had much success with it?

My last invesyment was in the Instyler. (big mistake there)
