Maxiglide is the TRUTH (PICS)

For the record ladies, I will speak for myself, the Maxiglide is a fantastic option if you are natural but want to wear a straight style e'er now and again. I say this b/c the Maxi does not burn your hair (no burnt hair smell), it achieves the same results as a relaxer without the permanency and your natural hair snaps right back to where it was before being straightened each and every time.

Now understand, manipulation of any kind does damage hair (ie. combing, brushing, handling, braiding, twisting and using heat) so always condition so your hair is in tip top shape to minimize damage of any kind.

Your lil mama and her hair are beautiful. The Maxiglide "is" awesome. I'm glad I read bubblin's review as well.

Wow!! Thanks for this thread. Her hair came out great. I am definately getting the maxiglide now. I'm also going to use it on my daughters hair. She is a 4b natural.

Your daughter is gorgeous :yep: and looks just like you

The Maxiglide results look great! This looks like this will be better than me trying to do the Dominican blow-out weekly (when my hair is out of braids)

I thought of the maxiglide as well.
I have super tight curly hair. 4b
Will the maxiglide do miracles on that? Also are you ladies with 4b hair blowdrying or hairdrying prior to using maxiglide?
What products do you use?
Thanks so much ladies!

Its kind of making me seriously think about going natural now and when I want to wear hair straight sometimes, I'll know that this maxi will do the job.

Armyqt, your daughter's hair looks great! How long did it take you to finish it? What size did you section off for each run of the maxiglide?

Baby girls hair is gorgeous. I had great success with maxiglide too, with my daughters hair. It's definately mama's helper.

Wow! Your daughter's hair looks beautiful. I am definitely getting me a Maxiglide before 2006. Keep up the good work Armyqt!

Eventhough the Maxi is such the bomb we did get a burnt smell. I don't know why. Prolly the products used.

Sylver2: Make sure you take pics of you daughter's hair.

Thanks. It took about 30 min to do. I made very small sections. What I was really amazed by is how well this big iron got to the roots. And I never burned her once.

Angel, use a lowercase "a" for the password.

Sylver, yes please take pics of your daughters hair after maxiglide.

Thanks again ladies for all of your wonderful comments. :)

I got in! Haha...you did a really good job! All of these Maxiglide photos are making me want to get one just to have it, nevermind the fact that I bought a Sedu!!

 Seems like Maxiglide might owe me a lil cut. LOL @ all the people getting a maxi  I want to see PICS y'all. Every last one of you. You ladies are the best. Thanks for checking out the pics and all the nice comments. Now I need to work on getting some pics of my own hair. :D

Okay ladies,
I will ask again...
Are you ladies with natural 4a hair blowdryer prior to using maxiglade?
What products are you using with it?
Thanks

Sterry, my daugher's hair was not clean. It had been blowdried a week prior, but she's been sick last week, so I didn't want to wet her head right now. But the maxi is so good, I think it wouldn't be really necessary to actually blowdry the hair first. I think the best thing to straighten hair with is coconut oil. My son has braids and whenever I was and blowdry his hair, I always use a little coconut oil as a leave-in before blowdrying and his hair always turns out nice and straight. Good luck and please share your pics with us :)

Hey sterry, I didn't blow dry my hair before I used it. What I did was wash & condition the day before, detangle it and braid it into section. It dried overnight so I just undid the braid, ran a paddle brush through each section, dab on some Redken mixed with a little shea butter then use the Maxiglide. For me, blowdrying would tack on an extra hour to the whole process.

Your daughter is a cuite pieeeeeeeeeeeee....love her hair

FOR ME I HAVE THE MAXIGLIDE BUT I AM MIXED ON USING IT BECAUSE I AM A 4A TEXTURIZED AND WHEN I USE IT I SEE LITTLE STRANDS STUCK IN THE COMBS ALMOST AS IF SOME OF MY STRANDS ARE BURNT DURING THE PROCESS...WHENEVE I USE IT I ALWAY GET THE PERM-STRAIGHT LOOK.. BUT I DO GET A BURTN SMELL AND A COUPLE OF STRANDS IN THE COMB.. SO I AM A BIT SCARED TO USE IT.....BECAUSE OF THIS.. AND I DO COMB MY HAIR OUT B4 I USE IT AN APPLY A OIL BUT I STILL SEE A LIL HAIRS IN THE MAXIGLIDE and this makes me really nervous.. i havent used it since....

Dang, Armyqt, you are the ULTIMATE Maxiglide pusher!:lachen: What a perfect setup - gorgeous daughter and great results!

Seriously, thank you for sharing pics of your little cutie with us.:)

Hi
I had the same problem. I switched the plate with the teeth to the other one without the teeth and I am still able to get my hair super straight no problems. I don't think I'll ever use the other plate again!

YOU KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING ABOUT THAT AND I AM JUST GOIN TO GO AHEAD AND DO IT AND SEE HOW STRAIGHT IT GETS MY HAIR COMPARED TO THE OTHER PLATE... BUT THE PLATE WITH THE COMBS REALLY DOES BURN SOME PIECES OF MY HAIR AND I AM A 4A AND I DO BRUSH MY HAIR OUT B4 I FLATIRON- I WAS ABOUT TO SELL MY MAXIGLID... BECAUSE I DONT WANT MY ENDS BEING BURNED AND THAT IS WHAT WOULD USUALLY HAPPEN WHEN I PROCEEDED FROM SCALP TO ENDS AND THE ENDS ARE YOUR MOST DELICATE PART SO... BUT I WILL SWITCH THE PLATE AND SEE

teehee :sekret: You must not know, I used to be one of the biggest product pushers on this hairboard. And it didn't help with the fact that I was hardcore PJ either. I'm reformed now though :p . Guess I haven't lost my touch, eh ;)
