On the fence: Rusk Sensories Smoother leave in

I used this for a rollerset without using a serum. Ill have to try next week using this with a serum for better results.

Hits:

Nexxus Emergencee

NTM DDC used as a deep conditioner, instead of NTM hair mask - thanks Sylver2 and all else who recommended this!

Vitamin regimen, including UltraNourishair, MSM, Silica, Flaxseed and evening primrose. I am sure this has contributed to the growth spurt and changed texture of my hair.

HUGE MISS::

PHYTO RELAXER index 2 - I have hugely underprocessed hair, that feels strange and DRY. I actually had MAJOR new growth after 12 weeks, now looks like I will have to sacrfice some of it if I cannot figure out what to do...I am still too upset to talk about it much, I feel like 12 weeks of really hard work is shot to hell

Undecided:

Shapley's MTG. Only had it a lil while, if I wind up going into braids I will use more often

Misses: :(
Alterna White Truffle Luxury Shampoo and Conditioner

HITS:
Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm -- left my hair so soft !

MISS:
Tea Tree Oil. I figured out that that is what was drying my hair. I realize I have to just wash my hair every three days, that's the only way that I can deal with itchy scalp. Tea Tree will go into my pre poos until it's used up and will not be used again except for emergencies.

JURY STILL OUT
Ylang Ylang essential oil. I used a few drops to give a scent to my coconut oil. I can't decide if I like this smell. I am looking for an essential oil that will be added to coconut/EVOO give my hair the delicious smell that products such as Pantene and Biolage have but have not found that oil yet. Hopefully this smell will not be overpowering.

Isn't this a no-lye? I have hear that no lye is drying? I have been scared to change relaxers because I have a sensitive scalp.

Don't despair. Go to a stylist that you trust to give you a corrective relaxer in 5-6 weeks and baby your hair and condition, condition, condition and leave your hair in a bun until then.

I am in a similar boat. A stupid :censored: stylist burned my scalp and left me with underprocessed hair, and this is what I am doing or trying to do, so we can try to support one another during these trying times.

That sounds good. I know I am sooooo disappointed. \

Phyto is no lye, but I have used no lye before w/o adverse results. I don't think my scalp is particularly sensitive....but I really wished I had just stuck with my ole 7.99 relaxer. Oh well - I wouldn't know until I tried.

I dont currently use a stylist - havent for eons - so I am not sure where to go. I dont know if I can trust anyone yet. Anyway, In the days since my mishap, I have conditioned each day. Saturday, sat with a mixture of Shapleys, EVOO and honey on my head all day...next day was NTM DDC as a deep conditioner after using WGO heavily on my roots...yesterday was a DC with EVOO again....tonight I will probably do a co wash....all the while barely manipulating my hair (using a modified Sylver2 scarf method and a baggie)..

my hair LOOKS good. It has softened up considerably. Now, pulled back in an updo it looks very wavy, very nice. I have been working HARD on it, but we will see how much longer this will last. I may switch to braids in another week or two; do you think that may be too soon?

It sounds like you are babying your hair, which is really good. I have been doing an oil based prepoo -- a combination of wheat germ oil and castor oil -- and, after my last wash, I used Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm. My hair has not felt this moisturized in a long time.

I am personally afraid of braids. I don't know if I will ever put them again in my hair because I always suffer a setback with them. :nono: My hair is very fine and they have ALWAYS damaged my hair. If I learn how to do it one day, I might do them on my own, but I am even scared to do that. I have been resting my hair since October with no heat -- I only use heat when I am using my conditioning cap -- and with keeping my hair in protective styles. This has greatly helped my growth.

I would think twice before putting braids in my hair. And yes, I think that putting braids in two weeks after a relaxer -- I feel relaxers weaken our hair -- might be too soon. Maybe one of the experts on this board will give their two cents. HTH.

Yeah! I am happy the Noxin and superactivo worked for you! Did you use them together in conjuction with a rollerset? Youll get much better results when use sit under the dryer with it. Yeah me and alfaparf are on the fence as well. Its just not all that great for me! And yeah I totally agree, airdrying the rollersets is a no go for me too!

Wow!
I was just telling my friend that Alfa Parf Semi Di Lino was the best thing ever!

What are your hair types LadyChe and Chaya?

I'm a fine 4a with a little bit of 3c and that stuff makes my hair feel so soft and smooth.
