Okay, the last time I colored my hair was in May of 2018. That's when Megan married Harry. After that I promised myself not to color my hair until Megan gets pregnant and have her baby, which I'm guessing is a boy. Well, now that April is three days away, I've decided to color my hair using Ancient Sunrise Henna. I brewed green tea and mixed my henna this morning. When I get home I will:
Apply henna to dry hair;
Leave henna on overnight;
Wash out henna and shampoo with Cream of Nature Argan Oil sulfate free shampoo;
Apply SheaMoisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque and sit under Huetiful Hair steamer;
Rinse and Apply SheaMoisture Low Porosity Leave-in and sit under Hot Head steam cap;
Section and seal hair with Jojoba oil;
Apply Camille Rose Natural Honey Hydrate leave-in;
Apply Camille Rose Almond Jai Twisting Butter;
Seal with Camille Rose Herbal Tea Leave-in;
Install bantu knots.:afro:

My scalp was itching since my last wash day (a week ago)...figured out the culprit which was the Melanin hair care multi use oil on my scalp.

Shampoo: Afroveda Egyptian Rose black soap shampoo.
Deep Conditioner: TGIN miracle hair masque
Leave in: scalp-roux anti-aging hair & scalp rehab treatment. Hair-CRN Moisture milk, fractionally distilled aloe vera liquid and water in a spray bottle.
Moisturizer: QB BRBC
Sealant: Melanin hair care twist elongating hair cream

Just made some Fenugreek oil to brew for a week on my window sill.

I also made some fenugreek rinse with AVJ and put it in the fridge to steep overnight before adding some peppermint and rosemary essential oils to it. I will start using that one tomorrow on my scalp and hair.

So I totally thought about not doing my hair but then the guilt caught up with me, usually my hair get oily when straight but my hair has been so dry.

I did a henna gloss with a shea butter, a conditioner from years ago called momo that I was never a big fan of, about 70 grams of hibiscus powder.

I rinsed after about 2 hours, then the cocoveda hair mask from hennasooq. First time using, it was nice. I mixed this with Aveda damage remedy.

Finally I did a Vatika black seed mask with cholestrol.

Finally leave in, coconut neem oil, shea butter, and air dried a bit, then argan oil and flax seed gel.

Saturday:

Just a quick "edit" to this - I actually had a change of plans an ended up doing everything on Sunday/Monday instead. I also tried whipped shea butter for the first time to seal since lurking in the thread inspired me. Lovinggg how soft my ends feel so far. xx

I feel like I need more protein...maybe...
Does breakage mean protein is needed?

So this afternoon...

Cleanse: Cantu ACV Root Rinse
Protein: Nature's Little Secret Milk Strengthening d/c
D/C: SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil masque
Leave-In: Palmer's NF Mallow Root spray
Styler: Wetline Xtreme (clear) gel
Dry: Air-dry for a wash n go

On Sunday, I reluctantly did the following:

-Cowash w/ APB Blue Agave Cowash
-Leave-in w/ BoBeam buttercream conditioner
-Sealed w/ Shea butter

Today I decided to wash my hair due to an itchy scalp. I think I used to much product and it left a residue that my scalp did not like. Also my ends were soft, frizzy, and tangled from bumming with my sock bun.

Today, I did the following:

-Poo w/ Sirod Naturals Coconut milk shampoo. I will leave a review in the HIT/MISS thread.
-Leave-in w/ Sirod Naturals Rice milk and BoBeam conditioner
Sealed w/ Shea butter

My scalp and hair feel much better. I had a ridiculous amount of tangles. I will refrain from sock binning for now. My hair is in two plaits and I have no idea what I’m going to do with it.

@Shadow_Lace

It depends on if your hair is over-stretchy and mushy feeling when wet. It should have a slight stretch when you tug at it if it's healthy, but overly so would definitely be a problem. Now if your hair is feeling really dry and snapping off almost every time you touch it, it's possible there's protein overload.

If you have not been using much or any protein on your hair, most likely the problem is your hair is not getting enough protein. Assuming your hair is not protein sensitive of course.

@Aggie Thank you for this!!!

I know this past winter I wasn't using as much protein (like a protein treatment 1x a month). I used more moisture because the air was actually cold, and the dew points were low.

Other than that, all I can think of is the gels I switched... from Eco Style(r) to Wetline Xtreme.

It could be that. Wetline made my hair dry and the ends especially crispy. They were much more prone to breaking when using it.
