It is a toupee by definition. For decades, men have been ridiculed for wearing toupees. I prefer bald.

I would love to do this.Is he creating the weaves? Does he make them himself? That is far more lucrative for men because you are using less hair and basically making a frontal kind of. Then you charge $700. EVEN BETTER, the average male client is not going to go buy his own hair and make his own wig.
That means you have a [DEPENDENT]client for life. And since most men are coming in at 30 and 40, that's like indoctrinating folks into Ronald McDonald loyalty for life!
I like how he said he's been blessed and shares the technique. I need to take a class!

I did some research. It turns out you have to have some hair in order to partake of the 'man weave' process. You need hair around the edges and sides to 'blend' in the man weave. Also, the units are bought whole. The 'custom' part comes in when the barber puts it on the head and starts to cut, shape and blend it. Basically, it's like a frontal but shaped for balding man.
Fascinating. My pockets are jumping. I smell an opportunity.

Can you pretend at least until they come into my shop for that minimum $700 dollar service? You are messing with my potential money. I can't push man weaves in my shop [which exists in my head only at this moment] if the sexy women of LHCF are saying they prefer bald heads.

Yes! This is absolutely fascinating to me. But I would have to go back and get another license/training to add to my other 480 things that I have.
I wish somebody would have told me that cash money trumps proper grammar and spelling and diction any and every day! I know at least 2 millionaires that say, "You is.."But really and for real, I'm glad I took the path I did.
To do this, I would need to go to barbering school. I think it is only 1 year or 13 months full-time. I'm not the type to be learning on the job. I don't want to slice up ANYBODY's man because of jacked up skills.

Somebody once said that a barbering license was better than a cosmetology license because men always need to get their hair cut. But women find ways to do things themselves when money is tight.

I like the concept, and I understand that there is a demand for such a product/service......but if I am being honest, it's a turnoff.
If DH came to me one day saying he was looking into getting a man weave I'd look at him sideways and wonder what is really going on. Something about it is very feminine, to me.
Just shave ya head and call it a day. Most black men look just fine with no hair.
To the bolded: How so? No different to me than those white men who use toupees (sp?); plus there are a lot of men (and women) who use products like Rogaine and Nioxin to regrow hair.

The man weave itself isn't feminine. It's the vanity of the process. The glue, the upkeep, etc. Just seems like alot of focus and money on appearance, for the average straight man. I know not every black man wants to be bald, but the option is there, no matter the age of the man.
I'm no toupee fan either......however I can very slightly see how a white/other man would be led to that option because 1- alot (most) of them do not have the option of being able to pull off being bald and 2-alot of white men start losing their hair in their 20's.
Rogaine, etc are in a different category and don't really apply to what I am trying to get across.

I like that he shows you everything, but I can't see how his technique leads to longevity of installs that most men would want in these caps. You can also see the line of demarcation in the front in a way you never see in the other man weave videos. The reason for the secrecy is that the more obvious techniques people are willing to show for free will lead to installs lasting at best a month, whereas the others 2-3x times that. Plus, they want to charge you to learn from them...

Im totally here for this!!!. us women have been doing this for decades. i think the great thing about the units is that they mainly match the guys natural hair. i don.t see many straight 'indian' or 'peruvian' going into a brothers head. which is not the same for a lot of our African american sisters,
I mean it has gone abit crazy, and people are obvious making a lot of money from it, this company acemanweaveunits.com (i hope i linked that correctly) looks like they have opened about a dozen shops across the US.

Just from looking at the still he looks so much more younger!
DJ Self got one of these the other day and posted it on his IG. The comments roasted him, poor guy. He had to put a limit on the comments lol. His looked really nice to me though.
