I'm sure you know by now that I have a weakness when it comes to conditioners, so here I go again :lachen: . . . which is better as a deep conditioner?

the silk elements was very moisturizing for me but it cost way more than the lustrasilk.

I love, love, love the Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol. It costs more than the Lustrasilk, but it's the best IMO. My hair has such great moisture and slip. Always a staple product in my arsenal. HTH!

I've only tried the Lustrasilk, and I absolutely love it!! My curls are phenom with it too!

SE Cholesterol is great! LOTS of softness and slip. Love it! Lustrasilk sucks eggs and comes nowhere close to SE's Cholesterol. It may cost more, but you definitely get what you pay for :yep:

I came in here to see what the CONDITIONER QUEEN had to say..................:lachen::lachen::lachen:

I'm sure you ladies add oil to the conditioners, right?
I just accidentally thanked you instead of quoting you  Anywho, to answer your question, 9 1/2 times out of 10, I don't add anything to my dc's. Too lazy :giggle:

I voted for Silk Elements Mega Cholesterol simply because it`s the best cholesterol out there! It thickens my hair and provides great moisture. I have a review about it on my blog. Check it out.

No, not at all. They have enough oil, IMHO. I like the Lustrasilk for leave-in curl definition. The Mega Silk is indispensable for after-texturizing. That conditioner is something else! And yes, it's so expensive...for a tiny little jar. They market this stuff for Black woman, right? Don't they get it yet? LOLOL.

Okay, see, I got the SE confused with the Megasilk moisturizing treatment. That one didnt work too well for me.

I havent used the SE cholesterol yet..but LSBC works great for my hair. Im going to buy SE soon and see what thats about.

What are you using in your hair to get that much growth in 3 months?:drunk:

From Jan to April '09 I used JBCO on my scalp twice a week and got great results. Check out my blog for more details on my Castor Oil Challenge.

cholesterol is a protein. are you using this alone or using a moisturizing cond after. I remember when I was younger people just used cholesterol by it self

I used the Lustrasilk for the first time this Sunday as a DC and wasn't really impressed. While my hair wasn't "dry" it wasn't as soft and easy to detangle as it usually is after some of my other DC's. I will try the SE and see how that goes.

I used LSBCP and I actually liked it. It left my hair soft and I didn't lose hardly any while detangling AND it soothed my itchy scalp so I'm satisfied. :look: You guys are making me want to try the SEMC though.

I don't really think there is a comparison. I have both. SE is a deep condish and wins hands down, however the Lustrasilk is more of a wash-out condish & used for creating curl definition (see Pokahontas' thread) IMO.

i like the Lustrasilk better for a dc and as a leave in. when i was natural it made my curls very uniform and i loved the smell. the silk elements was okay. i only used it once last week but i will have to try it again to be completely sure.

I've only tried the Lutrasilk, I only use it as a co-wash and i follow with a deep conditioner afterwards, so i can't really attest to it by itself, but so far it's been working for me just fine. After I rinse it out my hair has plenty of slip and feels soft.
