Does anyone do this? Is anyone going to do this?

I wasn't planning to trim my hair until September when I (hopefully) reach the top of brastrap but, if clipping it May 29-30 with help length, then maybe I'll go ahead and give it a try.

If this work, for it to work, do you have to trim it all over? just the area you want to grow longer? Or what?

I found this website too, and I am scheduled to get a trim all over on May 30th. I'm trying to maintain a routine of getting my hair trimmed every 8 weeks, but when I saw this chart, I decided to get trims based on what it says to see if it works. My last cut was on March 25th when I got chemicals put in my hair after being natural for 4 years. Anyhow, I'm loving my hair, but I still trip about getting my hair trimmed because of these SHS. I'm going back to the person that originally cut my hair and she said she would not cut that much. I've been "babying" my ends and I am going to tell her to give me a dusting, which to me means 1/4". I hope that is all I get. I'm going to schedule my touch-up around July 6th so she can give me another trim/dusting. I want to follow this lunar calendar to see if it does give you more length.

Fancypants, are you going to trim throughout the year based on the chart?

Do we have to trim every new moon (or whatever it is) for this to work?

**Bumping for more replies**

Thinking about trying this.......... does anyone believe they've had success with lunar trimming?

I was planning to do a once monthy dust/spilt ends removal according to the moon. But haven't because of a) lazyness, b) forgetfullness, c) my hair is too short in the back to see where to cut and d) I've had very few splits since I cut off my relaxed ends and stopped using heat.
I'm still planning to though.

Same here!!!

ladies do you mind posting the site for the lunar haircutting? I vowed not to get another trim for a year but this does sound interesting.

thanks in advance ladies,

My mother never liked for us to cut our hair at all, but if we were going to cut it anyway she insisted that we wait for either a full moon or new moon. We used to say it was an old wives tale. But we still did it. :)

i've been following this routine for the past 2 mos. Normally my hair grows slowly maybe 1/4-1/2 inch a month but i have noticed a little growth spurt when stretched. Of course this could all be coincidental. Its a routine i'd have to do consistently for a few more months before i decided if it really works or if its just a psychological thing.

I've done it for about 3 years...but I can't tell you if it works or not b/c of all of the cuts that I've had. I figure that if the moon affects tides/baby deliveries/etc... then it prolly affects my hair too.
