Love the product...hate the smell???????

Help, please.

I just got the Carols' Daughter HHB, and I like the way it makes my new growth feel but...I hate the smell, I think I'm gonna start gagging any minute.

Is there something I can add to it to cover or change the smell?

DSD, I don't know how to describe it...It's not a "horrible smell" but it's way too much...it's just so strong and I think that in another life with a more subtle smell... it might not be bad.

I didn't like HHB either, mine smelled like lemony butter with a hint of heavy cooking oil smell. I used half of it, and then gave the rest away.

Where's my girl daviine? Beyond the zone has struck out twice smell-wise as far as I'm concerned. Split Mender and the Acid Shock treatment...ew. Very medicinal

I love my HHB!! Yes, it does have a strong smell. I find that 75% of the time I don't mind it at all and actually enjoy it. Then, there's the other 25% of the time where the smell is a little too strong.

I think I've found that the smell is too strong when I use too much of it. Lately, I use a lot less than I did in the beginning so the smell doesn't really bother me.

It's a staple for me so I guess I have learned to deal with it.

WIld Growth Hair Oil is amazing. It makes combing new growth a breeze. I had 5 inches of new growth and the comb glided right through -- however the smell is truly horrible especially in the sun and I work among huggy kissy white people who love to have lunch in the park.

Hey Lulu, I went to the Cranky Princess and guess what?? They were out of HHB. She said she would order more. I told her I would call back next week to see if she has it in. I think you got the last jar!

And on top of that, I arrived exactly at 11:00 and there was no one there. I decided to wait a few minute to see if maybe she was running a little late. What the heck, she had a nice comfy chair on the porch and the breeze was nice. So at about 11:20 I decided I wanted to try later. As I was putting my son in the car she pulls up in her Volvo with the baby seat in the back, and I saw her and yelled "are you the owner" she said "yes".

Once I got inside she apoligized and made friends with my son Devin, so all is well. She has a very unique shop. I went around testing everything and checking out the gifts. I loved the picture frames. I will def. give her a call back on Thursay to see if it is in. I really want to try this product. And the place was only 8 miles from my house.
So I will post my review a little later down the line and if it smells anything like the other products she had there. I will be just fine. The smells were strong but not so bad that I couldn't bare them.

I didn't get the last jar, I got the last 8 oz jar, but there was another jar next to it, it was a smaller one because I couldn't decide which to get... of that much I'm sure...

That sucks, that is a very cute little shop...I sooo wanted a t-shirt.

I'm trying too hold on to this product because I love the consistency but man.....its so bad that I have the receipt tacked on my bulletin board ready to be returned any moment.....But I keep running back to it last minute though. I will say that it smells much better after it has dried in your hair.....is the same true for you BC?

What about you Laginappe? I think you're the reason I even tried this product.

It's true that the smell doesn't really linger in your hair...I think I'm hanging on to mine. And after my very successful wash this morning, I think I'm going to keep the Acid Shock too. It really does smell terrible at first but my hair is sooo silky today...

Thank Goodness! I thought I was the only one that hated the HHB smell! I bought one bottle and will never buy it again. Yes, it did GREAT things for my hair, but after the strong initial scent, it it started smelling like...wet dirty clothes or something- i don't know how to describe it. I would spray Got 2B curling spray to help...but it couldn't be helped much. I was ashamed if anyone got too close
