Think Slim
I had been going to the same dominican salon for about 15 years. When I moved away I continued to come back, but only for touch-ups. My regular stylist left and all of the girls at the salon gave me the "she went to DR" line, so I thought that I'd never see her again.
After getting my hair done one day, I was walking to my mother's house and spotted my regular stylist. I was thrilled to find that she had her own salon and it was only around the corner from my mother.
I'm a loyal customer, stick with the same stylist unless they disappear, so I expect good service. I also tip all of the girls really well, because I respect the work that they do, but this last visit left me wanting to plant a foot in a very dark place.
I called ahead, as usual, to say that I'd be there to get my hair done, but didn't realize that it was the Puerto Rican Day parade weekend and got stuck in nasty traffic. Needless to say, by the time I actually got to my destination, I was heated, because I had to go half way away around manhattan just to get to my mother's house
Ok, so I'm really ready to have my hair look good, after fighting traffic on both ends of the trip. My girl relaxed my hair, conditioned it and it came out nice and silky, but something wasn't right with the colourshines color that she poured out. It just didn't look right.
Digressing a little: for the past several months, I've been asking my girl in both English and Spanish, if she was applying colourshines red-ality and she insisted that she was, but it wasn't taking because of the hormones due to pregnancy. I didn't believe her, because my hair holds color, like a sponge holds water.
Anyway, she pours this really dark stuff in a bowl and I turn the bottle around to see "wine-red"
The heffer has been lying to me for months!!
Ok, I told her next time I'm bringing my color with me; no questions asked. But this is where I really feel the urge to kick coming on...she says that my hair needs a trim and I don't argue with her, because I haven't been really taking care of the ends. Also, she never really asks to cut it, because I always get a dusting here in PA, but knew that I needed a little more than a dusting this time.
Why, oh why, did that wench cut of 4 inches !!!!
Ok, so now I'm over it...my bob cut, is crisper than it's ever been in history, but it's shorter than I planned on having it.
She does a good job with my relaxer and does a killer blow out, so I'm going to give her one last try, by bringing in all of my own products.
Am I being too nice?
