Are there any naturals out there that have lo-mani reggie's without the help of braids or twists?
I'm talking less then 5-10 min. styling everyday and less then 15 min. spent on detangling.

Pleae share your reggie and your hairtype with us!!!

Morning: when I wake up, I wet my hair with my hands to revive the curls and/or flatten the hair leading to the ponytail = 30 seconds
Sometimes I put a scarf on the front hair for 30-60 mins while I shower, have breakfast, dress etc.
Put hair in ponytail = 30 seconds
Sometimes I twist the hair into one big twist = add on 30 seconds
If I bun it = 2 minutes (put hair in ponytail, fasten twisted hair with little mini clips)
Leave it down = 0 seconds after wetting it and "shushing" it

Evening: I do one long big twist and fasten it on top of my head = 30 seconds

Washing, conditioning & detangling twice a week = 20-30 mins each. There's no getting around that...:perplexed

Hair type: long, curly/wavy/kinky.

Yep!

* Co-wash in the shower
* Moisturize, seal
* Twist hair into 4-6 twists (night), wake up in the morning & slap on a wig  (for the '08 Wig Challenge, usually it's a WnG)

2-3x/month I have a "real" detangling session w/ my Denman, and that takes around 10 min., because I finger comb when I co-wash, so I don't have many tangles by this time; it's mostly shed hairs.

I'm a happy, nappy 4a!!!

I love seeing other "low-manis"! Especially with different hair types :yep:
I'm glad I'm not the only one
It can be done Ella...

For roller sets or other straight styles:
Morning.......gather hair into a ponytail only lightly brushing the edges to smooth. Finger style the ponytail a little and go.

Night........Let hair down, moisturize and seal, cross-wrap (using no combs), cover w/scarf.

For wng's or natural styles:

Morning.......if I'm wearing a ponytail I'll wet the edges and smooth with a brush. I don't touch the rest of my hair. If I'm wearing it down I'll just take off my scarf and shake the curls out.

I spend no more than 5, 10 min. at most on my hair to style in the morning. Detangling takes about 5 min.

Flowerhair.......I tried your twist and pin up and I loved it for my braid-outs. I also tried it with 2 twists and that one I liked even more.

LOLLLLLL I JUST REALIZED YOU SAID NO BRAIDS :perplexed:lachen:
I don't know if doing them yourself counts *mine end up being the UGLIEST huge braids I can muster since its time effective* so let me know...if it doesn't then :look: I still love all of you....
I braid my hair one day every two weeks into regular box braids and pull them back into a high bun...

I don't have to do more than 5 minutes of styling every 3 to 4 days to re-braid/re-adjust my bun.

BUT

On those days where I take the braids down, my hair is already detangled (Even though I sleep without any covering) so I just wash my hair daily (that takes about 5-8 minutes total for me, even leaving conditioner in), put it in a loose bun (high, medium, or low- takes 5 minutes total) and go out the door....I usually bun, braid or wear my hair out (though i've stopped wearing my hair out except for special occasions because its too much damn work! lolll) but it can be nice sometimes either way because I have bangs that i've self-cut which look nice *especially since they've grown out*

my routine with braids takes about 5 minutes (not counting the actual day I braid- but the braids *even on my 3C hair* last for two weeks without washing which used to drive me crazy because I used to wash daily) WITHOUT braids takes 10-13 minutes a day....:grin: I don't know when it got so easy but I must be doing something right if I can wet my hair and i'm actually at waist (although the hair shrinks up like I don't know what :ohwell:)

During the summer

co wash while in the shower
moisturise and seal
slap on ouchless band

out the door

10 minutes tops

4b

ditto. It's ponytails or puffs most days for me. (with a headband because I don't slick it down with gel.)

How do ya'll avoid tangling with wearing puffs/buns most of the time? Also, how long is your hair??

My regimen is pretty simple. I wash and dc once a week. Sometimes I cowash in between if I need to change my style. When it's warm out I wash and go every day. Takes 10 mins tops.

I probably don't qualify as low mani. I'm doing twistouts right now. After the initial twisting, I can get 5 days out of my twistouts. I just wake up, fluff up my hair, and go. That takes 5 minutes!

When I wear my fro, I cowash daily in the shower, get out and finger comb with Fantasia Gel, and go. Takes 10 minutes.

Lately I've just been:

1. Co-washing
2. Applying pomade, CAG, and Aveda anti-humectant
3. Wrap/plop for 15 minutes
4. Shake hair, leave the front for "bangs" and twist the back into a clip

I can get second day hair out of this. It takes about 5 minutes to style, and about 30 minutes from co-wash to out the door (includes the 15 minutes of plopping). Second day takes 5 minutes.

No combing, no brushing.

When it is warm, I co-wash daily and put in a leave in(infusium 23 the original), and I am out the door. Sometimes a scarf to pull it back or just my twa.

that is it. Maybe 10mins.

All of this is done in the shower

1. Co-Wash
2. Oil Rinse
3. Condition
4. Bathe
5. Rinse

(If I detangle, I use my paddle brush while the conditioner is my hair, followed by my shower comb)

Shake excess water out of hair b4 exiting the shower. The above can be done in 15-20 minutes (20-25 minutes if I detangle), and I've bathed!!!

Moisturize with quarter size of leave-in, seal with dime size of oil, pull back the hairline with a scarf, and drip dry with a towel around my neck while I get ready.

I'm 4ab, hair in siggy is the finished product.

I sleep in a satin bonnet, and use my hands to fluff. If I want to refresh the fro w/o washing it, I spray it about 6 times around the head with SCurl No Drip, massage it in and seal with oil.

Thanks to ALL the ladies that answered so far.You all have no idea how much this is helping me:grin:
My biggest worry about being natural(now that I know my natural hair straightens well) is the amount of time I'd have to invest in it.
Lol Meia your advice is more then welcome here:yep:

My daily regimen consists of cowash, moisturize, oil, bun
or moisturize, oil, bun. I detangle once per week, more if needed. I usually do it in the shower and it takes about 10 minutes.

Can you guys still retain lenght?

aren't these puffs a bit too stressful for the hairline?

The only style i can do are twists :perplexed, all other styles just look weird on me cause my hair is SOOO thicks.

And i've been considering new options.....
