My Regi:

1. Suave humecto mixed with brahmi powder, brahmi oil, and coconut oil. Put mixture into hair as soon as I get home from work. Let is sit for 2 hours. Rinse. Use Cantu shea butter leave-in and seal with coconut oil.

2. To clarify I use the Suave brand but plan on switching to ACV rinses.

3. Oil scalp with Candy C's indian sensation, or olive oil mixed with coconut oil ( parachute brand ), brahmi oil.

4. Use Cantu shea butter leave in to moisturize the hair shaft or olive oil and coconut oil mixed together.

5. Relax every 7 to 8 weeks trying to stretch gradually.

Once again I'm learning how to download and will show my beginning picture along side my current length.

Oops forgot to post my regimen. I'll post my braids regimen since I'm back in braids until June.

Ayurvedic Rinse: Amla, Brahmi and Shikakai..try not to dump too much on so I can keep this on for 1 hr. Making sure to massage the scalp well. Depending on whether or not my scalp can handle this I may or may not use diluted shampoo.

Condition: Diluted Conditioner

To Moisturize: Aloe Vera Gel, Tea, Vatika and Coconut oil all mixed

I'm going to post a starting pic this weekend. It will be wet hair with 10 weeks of ng. :look: My first real good update pic will be in March when I relax.

Sorry ladies but I have to humbly bow out of this challenge for now. I will be getting a big trim in about 2-3 weeks because my main concentration from this point on is getting more thickness to my ends. So I'll be trimming until it gets where I want it to be possibly every 3 months. Thanks for having me and I might try again next year. I know that if I don't trim, I'll get to MBL, no doubt, but that's really not my focus anymore at this time. Happy hair growing everyone.

This is going to be a real "challenge". I just trimmed and I am quite a ways away from BSL much less MBL. :ohwell:

I'm hoping to make midback by June, mid back is at the end of your brastrap right?????
My regmine is just do what i fell my hair needs, I usually DC often and clarify monthly, what I have been doing consistently is doing ACV after every Cond wash or after DC, but I mainly keep my hair in a bun and wear it out sometimes on the weekend...But my main regimen is working out, eating healthy, and moisturizing my hair daily....

Okay, here is a progress pic. I started at the length in my siggie, then got an unnecessary trim on Nov. 20 (first pic):wallbash:! Anyhoo, it grew to almost the bottom of my bra by Jan. 13. I think I would have reached the bottom without that trim.

I did a "trim experiment" because my younger sister trims with every relaxer and her hair grows back fast like a weed! I definitely think quarterly (3-4 month) trims will become my standard, but only if they are needed. :yep:

Reggie:
*Relax every 8-9 weeks (my stylist does it).
*Weekly wash/DC for 30 minutes under dryer/Rollerset.
*Low mani (usually wear in a ponytail, clipped up or in a makeshift bun). Only comb on wash day.
*Moisturize and seal most evenings.
*3 Daily supplements - 1 Nioxin Hair Vitamin, 1 Geritol Multivitamin and 1 B-Complex Vitamin
*Cover hair at night with silk scarves or a satin bonnet. Sleep on satin pillowcase.

Hi ladies right now my hair is in braids cause I'm in the C&G challenge. My starting point is my avi.

Wash and condish twice a week
Use protein reconstructor every week (aphogee)
Also steam with every wash since I will not be relaxing until about June.

My staples are:
GVP conditioning balm cond (moisturizing)
Silk elements (moisturizing)
Garnier Fructis w/ ceramides
Organic root stimulator replenishing cond (light protein)
Aphogee 2 minute reconstructor (light protein)

Moisturize daily with Rusk Sensories Smoother, seal with coconut or castor oil
Cowash with NTM daily deep condtioner every other day
Protein treatment with 2min reconstructor twice a month
Relax every 10 to 12 weeks
Dust as needed
Rollerset 50%, Bun 30%, Braidout 10%, Flat Iron top of hair (if I am wearing a sew-in) 5%, Other 5%

Havent found my favorite shampoo
Kenra Moisturizing Conditioner
Rusk Sensories Smoother Leave-in
Chi-Silk Infusion
Aveda Brillant Finishing Gloss
Lacio Lacio for rollerset
Coconut oil
Castor oil
Aphogee Green Tea
Aphogee 2min

no picture at the moment but some of my strands are at BSL :)

Hi there transitioning twin (Dec 2006)! i have a few strands at BSL also but havent straightened since October (last siggy pic) - not sure when im posting an update pic, but def by Dec 09.

Hey everyone!

I ALMOST have a reggie. Im alternating between moisture and protein and alternating brands between joico and aveda. Only - i really like the smell of mixed chicks and it REALLY softens my roots so i may use that as a replacement once every week or so, or else as a final rinse - havent decided yet.
after wash or co-wash (2x per week) i apply transitioners tonic on my scalp - water based
follow with champagne curls and kavier kinks oil to my scalp
giovanni direct leave in on length of hair, seal with oil (maybe avocado and grapeseed - cant remember)
slick front of hair back with cantu shea butter leave in (use like a gel - just on front of hair to get slick pony tail)
let pony tail airdry or bun to dry
oh - almost forgot - use MT before each wash (2x per week). wash within 15 mins of application.

see you guys on the next thread!

i'm sorry to see you go, aggie! your inspiration and encouragement are certainly going to be missed.

be sure to pop in every now and then to keep us motivated!

god bless sis! :blowkiss:

So my camera is temporarily out of comission, so I can't really take a starting photo. But I will post one as soon as I get it back. But I did measure and based on my measuring system my hair is at 13 in. I need 14.5 to be touching MBL. I'm on the Ayurvedic challenge, so that's pretty much my regi (oiling, tea rinses, henna, etc).

Since joining i became a *Curly Girl*

So my new reggie is cowashing and detangling daily (Suave Tropical Coconut mixed w/ honey and my beloved Conair Shower Comb). Then using the same conditioner mix as a leave-in and sealing with Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil. Throw that ish up in a bun and keep it pushin'! I clarify with diluted baking soda when I feel a need to. No heat up in here! (at least until the end of the summer). And I periodically (or daily or whenever) do a search and destroy. Yup..thats me now. And I love it. Transition is going smoothly.

that's great! keep it up and you will be natchal before you know it!!!

Ok so I took out my braids and the hair is coming along quite nicely. I did not do a length check (waiting for my next touch up in April). I plan to leave out my hair this whole month and put it back in braids next month.

I'm also doing the protein challenge cos my hair needs it. My regimen will most likely look like this (I could change it up):

Do a garlic shampoo and rewash with CON
Do a protein treatment with GVP Joico K-Pak
Then DC with GVP Conditioning balm
Moisturize with Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1

How's everyone doing?

i guess i'm doing ok. my hair seems to have grown a bit since my 2" trim in december. i'm on a personal no trimming challenge for the year...still shooting for MBL between june and september. i can SEE my hair at MBL in my mind and i can't wait until it's actually there!

i have a length check coming up next month, too...

My hair has been loving my ayurvedic regimen. I updated my siggy and I'm 1/2" from BSB. I did trim about 1" back in December and it looks like I got most of it back. I'll be documenting my progress with ayurvedic because I suspect it is the first topical product to actually increase my growth. Stay tuned..

ok so finger combing sucked. thought it was fine until i brought out the shower comb yesterday for the first time in a week...needless to say, i will continue to cowash daily but will also detangle daily with my shower comb now. still not pulling at the hair to see length until at least march.

Thank you for bumping this thread up. I was searching for it. Here is my starting pic:

Bra Strap Length

When I added my name a few months ago I was APL. So I have been progressing nicely. Great to start the year with some new length. Hopefully I will be full MBL in December. Wish me luck ladies. I'm so excited. YOUSAH!

Well, everything seems to be going good over here...I am doing lots of ayurveda, using a lot of herbs, and natural products, and my hair seems to like it versus the commercial stuff. I only comb on wash day, and wear protective styling 80% of the time, and braidouts for the remainder. Of course their is no direct heat, so my hair is a lot softer, and silkier. I haven't done a length check, as of yet, I will do one at the end of the 1rst session (I am shooting to complete all sessions!) and post pics of the progress thus far!.

Good Luck Everyone!

Happy Hair Growing! :D
