I didn't have such a great reaction but I tested my hair, only putting it on my bangs....and I waited (we're not talking days, we're talking a while) as I observed the changes. As my bangs split, I chopped off the damage. It just didn't work for me. I found more splits, etc. In the thread some ladies had a theory that it was too much protein (as I use avocado conditioner, etc)...and they could be right but I didn't care to try to find out. As I have bangs, I've cut them all year to keep the length and basically as I cut out my hair (until it was all gone), I cut out the damage and moved on. I don't want to rag on it though because tons of people had success but I think it's important to do a test.
I realize this is hindsight but for others trying it, perhaps it serves as a warning to test first.
Hi, I am so sorry about your hairPlease don't worry. We will grow our hair together to long, healthy lengths again.
I noticed that you said that you were misled to believe that BKT was not advertised as a chemical. I hope that more people learn from this. I know that a lot of people are using this as an alternative to relaxing but please, everyone, do 24-hour skin patch and/or strand test on all new products. One bad day at the salon just isn't worth all our hair going down the drain.
OP, what regimen will you use to get your hair back in shape?

i'm so sorry girlie....it will grow back healthier than ever. i have always felt like bkt was too good to be true. what are you doing currently to care for your hair other than gradually trimming away the damage and staying on top of moisture/porosity/protein?
