So I want to start wearing my hair in wash and goes over the Spring/Summer months. Shrinkage is a not what I would refer to as a problem, but it exists with my hair. I stumbled upon this today and I'm wondering if anyone has tried it and what their experiences and thoughts are on the product if they have?

I have not but there are several youtubes that may be helpful. Just search for length & lock.

Do you have a revair ? You can kinda do it that or you can band your hair and use the concentrator

Not knocking it. It’s the same concept but if you try it let us know.
I wish I could get a revair! The don't make them in order for use in the UK. Apparently they will not work with adaptors or transformers/converters. Some have imported and tried some Bob the Builder/DIY electrician stuff that has damaged the product.

That's too much money for me to take the risk. I vicariously live the Revair through you guys, it's a bit like the Con Air and CHI products.

I will definitely let you know how it works when I eventually get them, I'm trying to get the 17 inch one's, I'll likely import directly from the USA although they appear to be available on the UK Amazon, I noticed they're not all the same brand.

I looked at a couple of videos. It appears to lengthen nicely. If I were to try them I would use the smallest amount of hair to let the hair dry better and not smooth the curls.

I would also let my ends stay loos to retain that last 2 inches of curl. Otherwise they flatten out.

Definitely let us know if you try them.

I like the idea of leaving out the ends. I've only been back on the board for 5 minutes and I'm fast becoming product and tool junkie! At this rate, I will not longer be able to refer to myself as a reformed PJ....

I'm sho buying a set..I love a good hair tool lol...and I have the Revair, but I would like some of these for overnight heatless stretches.

These put me in the mind of the CWK plates(which I own) but more comfortable.

I saw a video of someone using these and it looked like she was putting a girdle on her hair. Lol. Unnecessary… How is this girdle better than just doing the banding method? It looks harder to attach and cumbersome; and I wouldn’t want to sleep in those. I’d much rather just use hair ties/elastics to band.

I watched the video, it didn't look to difficult, looked like they just clip together. I don't think I could achieve those results by banding I get a lot of shrinkage, and frizz is an issue for me too. It does look like they could be uncomfortable to sleep in, but I'd give it a go to see. You made me laugh with the hair girdle comment though

It’s a good idea, and the reviews seem positive but I felt like a negative Nelly, when all I saw was those hooks hooking into my hair as well as the material from the tool itself. Even in the instructional video, the lady looked like she hooked her hair. I don’t see how it can be avoided, especially if worn overnight. But no one seems to complain about that, so maybe it’s not an issue:look:. Still, this doesn’t appeal to me either.

I'm definitely going to keep this on my radar to try when I reach APL. I wouldn't sleep in them but I wouldn't sleep in anything; rods; rollers, etc.

Not sure I would use it for a wash and go, but I think just to stretch my hair naturally or to hold it taut while I do a light blow dry would be useful.

As far as banding, that doesn't work for my hair. My hair has so much shrinkage that whatever I use for banding would have to be super strong and then it wouldn't curve around my hair. But maybe banding works for long hair. It just made my hair take longer to dry and it didn't really do anything. It also took forever to band.

At this moment, I'm not afraid of the hooks. As long as they are not immediately at the top or the bottom, the shouldn't come in contact with my hair.

I remember years ago someone came out with these plates that were a similar idea. And they tried to sell them and there was all kind of drama around that (lol). Seeing these reminded me of that.

But since I won't be APL for a while, I will reconsider these at the end of the summer.

I was thinking the same about those hooks getting caught in my hair. It seems inevitable.

This TikToker mentioned that she kept hooking it into her hair instead of the other hook.

I don’t want to be negative either, but it just doesn’t look good to me. I’ve seen so many stretching methods over the years that seem better, imo. I also like my hair stretched from the roots, not the ends just pulled straight.
