Hi I used Nupur for the first time last night. I mixed it with equal parts water and oil, until it was a creamy cake batter texture. Still got a lot of dye release, and no discernable loss in curl pattern.
I used Nupur (first time w/ a brand name! ) henna the other day with a teaspoon of Brahmi powder and enough water to make a thick consistency. The amount of henna and water would depend on how long and thick your hair is. I applied it to my freshly washed hair after letting it sit for an hour. I didn't want too much of the color otherwise I would have let it sit out longer.
The brand doesn't really matter much, though. As long as it's body art quality, it's all good! HTH
I mix 1/2 cup Nupur with dark coffee to a thick pudding consistency, let it sit for 4 hours. Then add one egg, and about 1-2 teaspoon of olive oil, at this point it is a creamy cake like consistency. In a separate bowl mix 1/2 cup of indigo and water to a thick pudding consistency and add this to the henna, if you omit the indigo, mix up more henna to cover your whole head. Sit under dryer for 1 1/2 hours and rinse out with no problem at all. Indian lady with hair down to her knees gave me this recipe almost a year ago and I love it. The egg made the biggest difference for me. She henna's every week. HTH
I mix about 150g Nupur Henna with
10oz. room temp. coffee
Dabur Amla Oil
Aubrey Organics White Camelia Conditioner
I mix to a nice creamy, cake batter consistency. Then I apply, cover up real well, and go to sleep.
In the morning, I get awesome color relese on my hair, a wonderful deep conditioning treatment with the Aubreys and the Amla oil. Rinsing my hair is a pleasure due to the oil & conditioner!
