Is it all you expected it to be when your hair was still short?
I daydream and fantasize about what I am going to do with my hair when it reaches THAT length.

Did all you expectations come true or did the novelty wear off before you got there?

Good question. I'd like to know myself.
I reached my first goal of APL in September, and it wasn't all I thought it would be, though it was a big step as I'd never been there in my adult (or teen) life. I had an anti-climax and it wasn't that big a deal anymore after about 2 weeks (im natural so I don't always see the length). Then I wanted more... I can't wait to get back to you on my ultimate goal of WL.

I'm actually beyond my original goal (BSL). Is it all I thought it would be? Yes and no.

When my hair is straightened? Yes. When I reached WL I was actually in denial for awhile because I just knew my hair would never be this long, and I thought I was misunderstanding what WL must be.

When my hair is curly? Not so much. As shown in my siggy pic, I have a ton of shrinkage. And I wear my hair straight just a few times a year. But those few times I do, I love shocking myself and others with how long my hair has gotten. ;)

Your hair is absolutely gorgeous!

I admit I suffer from some sort of hair anorexia. Every time I achieve a goal it isn't enough or I claim it to be not really there. For example, I achieved top of BSL and I convinced myself that it isn't really BSL until its at the bottom of BSL. When it got there I didn't think it was long enough or nice enough to really be happy with. I reached MBL but I don't really claim it because its not full enough yet although some of my hair is actually at WL.

For me, most of the fun was in the process. I reached about an inch or two past APL (my goal) and thought, "Meh :ohwell:. What was all the hooplah?" and proceeded to chop it off to a neck-length inverted bob. Now, I'm excited to have a stylish cut for now and embark on the growing out process all over again.

More more more!!!!!!

Although I reached CBL (again) this month, I'm a little excited because ponytails and buns aren't anorexic anymore, but it's not enough of course. Now that I'm a few inches from APL, APL doesn't seem that long to me. And that's funny because I said I would STOP at APL!

This sounds like something I would do. Grow it and then cut it into a stylish cut. But of course I'm partial to stylish cuts(shoulder length and up). I think I'm among the minority on this forum

As for the question at hand. I haven't reached my goal of APL but I'm interested in what that experience will be like.

girl me too! I am about 2-2.5inches from APL and now I don't think it would be that long on me. Once I reach it then I would see if I want to continue to BSL.

I reached my 1st big goal of WSL and I didn't claim it right away cause like the others said I wasn't sure I had made it yet. Now I'm just learning how to do new styles and stuff looking for styles cause once you reach WSL there's not alot of style options shown, even though your have alot more styling options IRL.
So I have to search. Also I have hair anorexia so even though my hair seems long to others it doesn't seem that long to me, so I'm growing it out to HPL, hopefully that will cure my hair anorexia.

Nice thread. I made my first goal of APL recently and it just doesn't feel long at all. I remember when I first started, I swore my heart would stop if I made APL. Now it's like....umm okay. I haven't even straightened my hair since making APL because I don't want to be disappointed with the length. So, I am going for BSB this year- hopefully my hair will finally feel long and the excitement will kick into high grear!!!!

Is it all you expected it to be when your hair was still short? Yes! It's actually even better than I dreamed of! I didn't know what to expect, since I never had long hair as a child.

Did all you expectations come true or did the novelty wear off before you got there? The novely sort of wears off a little bit, since long hair doesn't happen over night. You grow and you grow and one day you've reached that length and you basically only see the length on photos, because it's behind you most of the time

It's a lot of fun to get compliments on the hair.

I'm not very creative with my hairstyles, but I've started to wear my hair down a lot more. I want to enjoy all my hard work.

I made my mini goal of BSL and well after being here and on other hair forums it just doesn't seem that long to me anymore. I can't wait until I have a whole years worth of photos to look back at my progress THEN I'm sure I will see growth and have that moment where all of this feels like its paid off. But I might not get that feeling until my hair is at least mid back curly and that is most likely a long time away!

When my hair was jacked I would think how happy I would be with APL. When I first reached it I was so happy but after a few weeks I was disappointed. People keep commenting on how long it is but I really don't see it. Now that I am a few inches from BSL I am hoping I can see the "long" hair thing once I get there.

i've always been between lower nl & sl. i use to think cbl was "long", but now at nearly bsl, i still feel sl. i'm too focused on achieving the final goal to enjoy the progress in the meantime

I have reached 2 well actually 3 of my goals....i started off right at APL...and i was like... I can't WAIT to be BSL....and then i was so excited when i achieved it...it quickly wore off when i saw how luxurious MBL looked....so then i went for it...and now i am!! My other goal was to thicken out my hair....and i am SO happy i achieved it!!! Now i want this thick hair to go ahead and reach Waistlength.....and scrape Hip just a little bit :)
