Sorry, I guess we are looking for responses and don't have anything to add as we haven't reached that length yet.

Yea I'm still working on reaching a new length. When I get there at the end of this I will definitely comment!
But I would suspect that many people decide that they wouldn't mind growing even further and moving on the next goal.

It was surreal. I flat-ironed it and it was long, healthy and shiny. I recieved so many compliments when I went out, my hair was swaying in the wind.

And then within the blink of an eye, I woke up and realised it was all a dream.......

Sorry op, I ain't there yet!!!

Well I'll answer IRL not a dream
I have already reached my 1 st big goal WL and maintained it for a good while until I BKT d
I was in MBL limbo for what felt like forever actually once I stopped getting 3-4 inch haircuts I reached milestones quickly so I didn't even know I was WL
I knew it was long but I had been wearing my hair curly or braided under a wigs
So I cw dc dryer then flat ironed and was like wow it's really long longer than I thought my hair hadn't been long like that since I was a kid
Then I took some pics and posts in my fotki thinking it would just be another update
Well everyone told me I was WL I didn't even know I thought I was just grazing
When I read posts on here too it just made my day.
Then all day family was like whew your hair got long.
Srangers were eyeballing my hair to check for tracks I gues.
Well I was so happy that finallly that so called impossible was possible I had achieved my dream length so I made a new goal. it's like being in your best hair dream then not waking up even if you pinch yourself.
I'm close to WL again then I'll grow to whip HL them maintain
Hth :)

Great post! Thanks for responding...thanks to everyone else who responded too.

Maybe I should have said "any improvement that seems unreal now"....so I will go next.

Over a year ago my hair was sl or a little longer but the thought of apl hair was so unreal to me and I wanted it badly. Now that I am apl I am so in love with my hair and the styles that I can now acheive...curly ponytails w/long swoop bangs & twistouts just to name a few. I sometimes look at a pic of my hair and cant believe its mine...I am so looking forward to longer lengths :)

:lachen: this really made me laugh.

Have not reached my hair goal yet but recently my daughter wanted to watch the DR. Quinn series box sets. About on season four I let my bun down to get ready to wash and thought Wow I have hair longer than one of my once hair idols of long ago and far away Jane Semour. It was very nice.

I was one of the viewers that didn't comment  I don't think I've reached an "unimaginable" length yet. I'm MBL. Maybe I'll feel differently when I WL lenghth this fall. Maybe not until I hit hip lenghth...

Either way... I'll come back then lol.

This is a fantastic thread.

I'll keep this short and sweet, I used to be balding all over especially my temples. That was 3 years ago when I 14/15 and relaxed, now I'm 18 and natural.

To tell you how it feels? I never thought i'd ever be at this stage where masses of people ask me for advice. I used to cry over my hair and now I cry tears of happiness. Ok, so my hair is so thick and long it may take HOURS to do twists but I'm so grateful, it can take days for all I care. It feels like dream. Honestly. It feels amazing when all my friends and family and strangers compliment me on my hair but can I tell you what also feels amazing? When the girls who laughed at my non-existent hair 3 years ago see now, my heart smiles but to be honest I took their negativity and turned it to a positive :)

well, my hair is not hecka long...but my original goal was APL.....once i hit it, i had hairoxeria...i didn't even appreciate it until i had a setback. i had to cut 3-4 inches off. i was soooo mad at myself for not enjoying it when i had it. celebrating where i was.

fast forward i took my hair out last month (i wear weaves 6 months out of the year as a protective style) i was so OVERJOYED at the length. my goal is BSL. i thought i would be there after hiding my hair for 6 months, but not quite yet. still grazing.

i did not let that deter me from celebrating.

my hair is now the length it was when i was a little girl. i finally have to use two ponytail holders to keep up with the weight of my hair like my long hair friends. i finally have a beautiful big REAL BUN! Not a fake one. women at my job grab my ponytail thinking it's fake. i can do all the styles i ever wanted to do. cute buns and princess leah puffs. the other day at work, i had my hair flat ironed and one of my staff commented that they stopped working when they saw my hair swinging in the breeze as i walked by.

i am soooooooooo happy with "her" (my hair is a person with her own personallity. so i call her, "her". LOL):lachen:

i celebrate every time my hair ----- gets tangled because of the length, takes forever to wash, costs me more money since now i use more products, gets in my mouth when i eat, gets caught in my purse, car window or seatbelt.

oh and i forgot!--- i love that i can't wash in the kitchen sink anymore because my hair goes down the garbage disposal......too funny! :)

i love it! i also love that i went from having hair idols (still do) to being one. i am truly thankful to have gotten this far in my journey and all the support i get from the women on this board.

I like this thread! Subscribing but I have nothing to add because I'm not at my goal yet nor do I feel like I'm at a length to brag <---in a good way of course. :drunk: Soon though. Very soon.

girl! please! celebrating your hair is not bragging....your hair is beautiful. and in real life it is hella long!

i know on the boards we kinda get stuck on long being waistlength. but in the real world you may see one wl person a month IF THAT....here we see it all day every day. my point is we are desensitized to long hair. BSL is long. YOUR hair is long. AND i am of the humble opinion that you should celebrate and "brag" and tell me how you got that shine and those lovely ends! :yep:

havilland

LOL! True!! Thanks.

That shine is the infamous extra virgin coconut oil.
I cut my hair into a blunt cut last year April and so far it has continued to grow in evenly. No 'V' shape as of yet but I didn't think it took this long to grow back into 'V'. *shrugs*:perplexed
