Once a week. I know alot of people don't believe that products can make hair grow, but I believe that some can help hair grow, and for me, this is one of them. My scalp behaves best with this one too because it's not as heavy as the others I've used. I just recently switched back to this one because of my scalp woes. I was using Hollywood Beauty Castor Oil a while back, but had to switch because of the terrible dandruff I was getting. When I starting using the TCB, my stylist told me my scalp looked so much better and that I needed to stay with it. After I left her, I wandered off and tried new things, but I'm back with this.

They have new label designs out, but the ingredients are all the same. Here's what they generally look like.

The one I just got had green labeling. TCB is doing everything they can to boost their appeal.

I know that B&B actually does aid hair growth it contains a hormone that is associated with hair growth.

I was raised on Ultra Sheen Hair and Scalp Conditioner - Extra Dry Formula. My mother applied it to my scalp, and then brushed it though.

Since October 2003, I have been using Avlon's Keracare High Sheen Glossifier. It has a much lighter consistency, and my hair and scalp remain well-moisturized. If my hair needs an extra moisture boost, then I re-apply at about mid-week. I wash and condition my hair once a week.

I agree, Karonica; some brands of hair grease *do* make the hair grow. My mother is a confirmed believer that the Ultra Sheen Hair and Scalp Conditioner Extra Dry Formula encourages hair growth.

And the belief that Black folk do not need hair grease?

I see *and* feel the difference when I do not.

Black hair simply does not produce enough sebum to keep hair and scalp well-moisturized, unlike Caucasian hair.

I just started using the light blue Dax grease. Its says Super light Pomade, Dry hair and Scalp treatment. Although it contains petrolatum and lanolin it also has sweet almond oil, aloe vera, avocado oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, sesame oil, wheat germ oil, safflower oil, peanut oil and cottonseed oil.

I was using this last before switching back to TCB. Unfortunately, it wasn't helping my scalp issues, although it had sgae-n-sulphur in it.

And all of the regular TCB Hair and Scalp Conditioners have the same ingredients I believe. Their "Lite" version is totally different, and I wouldn't advise using it on the scalp because it's actually thicker! Like a gel, but it's good for edges and sheen though. Not for my scalp.

Its funny Karonica, I have heard a few people say the same thing about the TCB hair grease... that it increased thier hair growth

.

Karonica, if u apply it only once a week do u wash more than once a week.

It depends. It's generally once or twice a week. But I ALWAYS apply grease to my scalp at least a day after shampooing.

So that could mean once or twice a week.

This weekend though, I didn't wait a day after to apply the grease. I did it on my damp hair and scalp (after the Parnevu creme)! It was a success! Generally grease on wet hair is a nono.

I was soo happy!

Has anyone ever used Palmer's Coconut Oil? It has grease ingredients, but I really like this stuff, particularly for curling. I used it on my scalp, and guess what? No itchies!

I may use this about 3-4 days after using TCB on my scalp, so I can oil my scalp twice a week, compared to once.

I use Royal Crown Castor Oil or Softee Indian Hemp. Sometimes Softee Coconut Oil.

I also believe the TCB grease aids in hair growth. My mom uses it on and off and her hair is growing more.

I love Africa's Organics Herbal Tree Tea Growth. I love this stuff. No petroleum or mineral! It works wonderfully on my new growth, softness and shine galore.

I'm with you nmfsc. I start using the Africa's Organics Herbal Tea-Tree Gro and haven't stopped since. It's really good when I get close to touchup time, b/c it helps minimize shedding and breakage.

which tcb is it? the natural or regular one? can this be found at sallys. God bless you all.

Where do you even find Dixie Peach? I've always been curious about it...it's been around for a LONG time, right?

You're right--it's been around forever. I've seen Dixie Peach at Eckerd's and CVS. In the "ethnic aisle", of course.

I thought they all had the same ingredients, except the "lite" version.

It doesn't matter to me though. They all work, except for the "lite" version which is actually heavier, like a gel.

Fine Chyna, where do you get the KUZA pomade??

My mother used to use this in the Indian Hemp one. I read in SBH that Alicia Keys uses that one too.

Has anyone ever used Decca Plus Satin Pomade? I used it a few years ago and my hair retained a lot of length with the help of it. It is very light and has ingredients such as wheat germ oil, and vitamins A, and E etc... I recently looked it up on the net and there is a website you can order it from.

Hey A Christian: I have become a product junky since finding this site: I purchase a product Sat per the insisted a a sales person it's called "Don't b Bald I have never heard of it ingredients are: petroleum, cactus aloe oils, special essence oils, sulfur, menthol, vit E,quartrmized acetamide MEA I did not read the ingredients until now it stated keep away from small children and open flames and do not put on face or body(what the heck) I feel something working on my scalp this girl said it made her girlfriend hair grow, I am such a sucker,Oh well I hope it works

Hey guys.

Well, I went to this lady the other day to get my hair did, and she told me that I need to use some thicker grease in my hair since I have dye in it. And actually, I agree with her. TCB is very lite, and I have been noticing a bit more breakage than usual. I don't think TCB is thick enough to coat my strands from stress very well, so, I'm going back to Isoplus Castor Oil.

Also, I was in the store and saw that Isoplus has some mini-greases out, called "Nature's Remedy". I picked up the one called Olive Oil and Lanolin, and I must say, I like it because it's light, but adds sheen. So, I'll be using this on my hair when I wear it down and want sheen. Sorta like Hot 6 Oil. Oh yeayuh.

Hey jancan,Karonica, and everyone

I think someone mentioned it earlier, but BB Supergro (the green grease)is also good. Although petrolatum and mineral oil are the first two ingredients, the rest of the ingredients look good: sage-n-sulfer, wheat germ oil, natural coconut oil, sesame seed oil, soybean oil, hydrolyzed collagen, and vitamins E,D, and A. I know walgreens carries it. It has a very nice scent as well.

yeah thats what ive been using and i like it. maybe its all in my head, but i've noticed a little growth.

Ladies, be careful with the Don't Be Bald products. Make sure they are new and haven't been sitting on the shelf for a while. I'm assuming the company has cleaned up it's act since this report. House paint?

ALABAMA

Minister Ran Baldness Cure Scam

Mobile church pastor Arthur Mallard, 63, was found guilty by a federal grand jury of 208 charges including bankruptcy fraud, money laundering, mail fraud, and tax evasion.
Mallard continues to sell "Baby Don't Be Bald" cream treatment that he claims is a cure for baldness.
According to federal prosecutors, Mallard's "blue-goo" is a useless cream with a petroleum base that has added fragrances and various dyes, such as house paint, for coloring.
Mallard earned more than $193,000 from Jan. '94-June '95 by selling his baldness cure cream and other shampoos and ointments in beauty supply stores in Houston, Mobile, Tampa, some cities in the Carolinas and various other locations, according to the prosecutions indictment. His product's were not approved by the Food and Drug Administration, as required by law. Source: The Birmingham News 11/3/95
