Is there anyone out there who colors her hair and still keeps it healthy? I'm not talking about rinses or cellophanes but actually hair dye out of a box or going to a stylist. Please post your tips and tricks!

1. do you use at home color (what brand?) or go to a stylist?

2. do you use permanant or semi permanant?

3. natural or relaxed?

4. what color did you go naturally from and to (black to blond, brown to red etc)

5. 4-ish or 3-ish?

6. how often do you get it done?

7. what do you use to stay moisturized?

ok thanks a bunch ladies!

My responses in pink........Also, using milder shampoos help retain color. Also watch your protein, you might need more than you think. I am going through that now. My hair isn't breaking but it does need more protein than usual. My color is still nice though, I have toned it a bit with some brown in the last 3 weeks.

I normally make a day out of it so the color and conditioner stay in as long as possible. Even though I wash every week, the color lasts the full two months.
