DSD I'm sorry you're having problems. The onlything I know to suggest is the BBD Stretch. It has always stopped my breakage and restored moisture.
Thanks! I have a litle sample of stretch that someone sent me. I have been using it on my nape. Maybe I will try a little on my ends too!

I would say use a Protein conditioner, and good moisterizer. I would also put back in effect what you were doing in the beginning of your hair journey. You will be fine. :)

DSD sorry for the set back, but I have faith in your skills that you will over come this problem. Here's a treatment I found on MUA and I've used it twice with good results. Each time I used it, my hair felt stronger and I had less breakage.

At first, sorry for my bad English but i am from Belgium and we do speak Dutch en French.... When you are a model your hair is just sompthing that has to look nice for te picture and after that... that's your problem, they think. I have normaly almost black hair with a huge wave pattern and it had to become white (platina) en straight as a board. Solution they gave me: dye it blond and relax it! = the 2 most damiging things you can do to your hair. I think i do not have to say how my hair looked. Straw, totally dameged. Never seen sompthing that dead! No problem said the hair dresser. I wil repair it. And he did! How? At first you wash your hair with a deep cleansing shampoo (from redken), then you aply redken extreme shampoo (not the blue bottle with the pink shampoo but the new blue bottle with the white shampoo in it!- old extreme shampoo was bad and drying. The new one is really, really good) After 5 min you rinse your hair en make it towel dry. Next step: blend this product (deep fuel) with emergencee from nexxus. Do a shower cap and make it hot with a blow dryer (half an hour)Remove the shower cap, -do not rinse- spray addictive hair transformer on it, put you shower cap on and blow dry until your hair is dry. Then rinse. Make it again towel dry en put keraphix (nexxus) on your hair. Let this dry over night. Repeat this in two weeks 5 times. It is a hard job to do, but i promis you: your hair will be saved even if you have done things to your hair as i do. Don't use all soft heavy cream, kerastase oleo relax or masquintense or other softeners when your hair is DAMAGED. (they or good for not overprocessed very dry hair) Indeed they make your hair soft, but they WON'T repair it! Al the products i have been given are very repairing and also moistering. Try it. Your hair will be in the best condition ever. I have to admit that it is pricey, but totally a HAIR SAVER!
Thank you!

Thanks for posting the tips!

I do this when I wash. I use Keraphix followed by Elucence. I may have to go back and examine my first routine. It's a good idea to possibly go back to it! Thanks!

Thanks!! Jazzing is a rinse.

I use s-curl when I wear my buns. Where do I find out about this Garlic you all are talking about??
I find mine at any BSS that sells Spanish Hair products...
It comes in a with jar with Grey, White, & Orange writting...
There is also the Garlic cream by Alter Ego but that's mad money....
If you can't find the Garlic Cream itself, just buy the Garlic Oil & pour it into any Shampoo &/or Conditioner you use...
It will really help the hair!
The oil is wherever you buy your other Essential Oils!

I'm posting this without reading the entire thread so forgive me if this has already been said. Have you had drastic changes in diet? Last week I did alot of eating out instead of my usual well balanced diet. I can see the difference in my skin and hair as a result. I've had to up my daily moisture to twice daily to get my hair back on track. Remember what we put in our bodies also effects how our hair and skin looks. What about water, you getting enough of that?

Besides that I think you shoud go back to the basics with your hair. Wash, deep condition, leave in, moisture. I'm sure your familiar with Aubrey's GPB. Give that a try once a week. Back to bun and baggie daily until this is under control.

You might want to consider braids for a break from everyday styling.

LHCF ladies to the rescue!!:bud: I would suggest a protein treatment. I know the ladies here have suggested Aphogee, but I really like Elasta QP Breakage Serum. I would also suggest that you keep your hair in low maintenance styles, like ringlets, lots of deep conditioning and hot oil treatments, until your hair gets healthier.
 I am so sorry that you are experiencing this. The price we pay when all we want to do is just change up a bit :wallbash:

Ok DSD....Just Breathe and everything will be alright  .In all great rewards there are always some setbacks. You have taken great care of your hair so far and we all have seen the length and healthiness flourish. Hmm let's see maybe you should do at least 2 deep conditioning treatments with heat each week until your hair starts acting right.

What heavy protein do you use on your hair? And when the last time you did a heavy protein treatment?

Any kind of coloring to the hair is going to be damaging but if you didn't do a protein treatment before or after and also a deep conditioning treatment after...your hair might be yelling back at you. I hope that everything turns out alright for you.

I don't have any advice but I just wanted to give you a ((HUG)) and a  . You are such an inspiration to everyone.

I don't really have any specific advice, because I'm sure you've tried everything that I'd suggest. :ohwell: I've used Jazzing before and I also thought that it was a little drying. I prefer Sebastian's colorshines best.
DSD, I'm sorry :( I never expected you to have a thread regarding breakage.
I agree with Kitchen - I have used both, never had a problem, but colourshines is my staple now.

How long did you leave the jazzing in? Is there anything else that you used that may have possibly caused the drying?

Sorry to hear that DSD....here is a regimen from Motions. Also try going back to the baggie method and using Elasta QP Recovery Oil Moisturizer while doing it. You should probably leave the heat alone till the shedding stops.

Here is a recipe that will stop breakage, slow the formation of split ends and thicken broken, frayed hair. It asks that you not shampoo your hair for thirty two days:

1. Rinse hair until the water runs clear.
2. Apply a generous amount of Motions® CPR conditioner.
3. Massage into hair as you would a shampoo.
4. Let it sit for about fifteen minutes.
5. Rinse with room-temperature water.
6. Apply Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.
7. Apply Motions Oil Sheen.
8. Dry and style your hair.
9. Apply Motions hairdressing every morning.

You will notice a difference immediately. You hair will feel thicker and softer. Repeat this procedure every four days, for one full month.
10. The tenth treatment starts with the same warm water rinse then lather with CPR shampoo.

11. Rinse lightly.
12. Apply a generous amount of Motions CPR conditioner.
13. Rinse with room-temperature water after three minutes.
14. Apply Motions Foaming Wrap Lotion.
15. Apply Motions Salon Sheen.
16. Dry and style your hair.

Continue the shampoo & conditioner treatment weekly until your hair is long and thick as desired.
• If your house is dry, keep a pot of simmering water on the stove during the day for
• Normal pillowcases will absorb oil from your hair, so buy a few satin pillowcases.
• Massage your scalp nightly to promote oil secretion.

I hope this helps...pm me if you need to.

That's terrible. I wish I knew some solution for you but I am one of those who looks to you for a hair crisis solution. I hope that all turns out well :Rose: .

Hmmm, is this a protein reconstructor? If so, how strong is it?

DSD Emergencee is a strenghthening polymeric reconstructor. It never makes my hair hard and I used to use it without following up with a conditioner because it was so gentle. However it does significantly decrease my breakage and shedding. I use it every week and when I don't I can definitely see a difference.

DSD, i'm sorry to hear about your issue. I've been reading your positive posts on this board and you have been speaking strength to all of the ladies on ths board, you've greatly helped me out. Well i had a similiar issue, i didn't apply a rinse, but i think it was because i let my sister put the phyto in my hair. so i had unusual breakage. the only thing that helped was babying my hair for like 4-5 weeks, then it slowly stopped breaking and started acting healthy. So for the next few weeks, just forget about being cute. :look: Just wash/cowash twice a week, do deep conds after every wash, and keep alot of oil and moisturizer in it and maybe pin it up. After a few weeks, it'll get better. oh and another thing i do when i have dry hair, is i apply a little Mango butter at night and put on a showercap and then put on my scarf. in the morning my hair is real moist and has body, then in apply a light oil to retain the moisture for the day....i think this works for me.

and another thing before i go...i just wanted to tell u to be wise in choosing which products you use. It sounds like you have some good ones, and buying alot of stuff won't miraculously solve the problem. only TLC will solve it. I just don't wnat u to go broke. ;)

You are too funny! Thanks!

I have done the Aphogee and Elasta QP Breakage control serum. It didn't work. It has never taken me this long to get a breakage problem under control. I have done deep conditioning and hot oil treatments for my pre poo. I think the biggest change was me trying to wear my hair out sometimes for the spring.

I may just have to bun it back up and go on about my business!!

Thanks! It has been about 3 weeks since I did a heavy protein treatment. It was an aphogee. It followed it with a moisturizing conditioner and it seemed as if the breakage got worse.

I will be fine with you all helping and supporting!

Thanks! I didn't expect it either. Actually this was extremely hard for me since everyone looks to me for advice and support. Finally after suffering for a few weeks I just gave in and went for it. You guys are wonderful. I don't know where my hair would be without you!!

I think I will just stick to the basics :yep:

I am a newbie but you are one of my inspirations and my esteem for you has only increased during this difficult time. It takes a strong person to talk about a sensitive issue, but you are loved. Keep your chin up and you'll be growing in no time.
