I went to the Dominican salon for the first time to get a blowout and when I washed my hair I noticed there was a little more breakage than normal and the texture of my hair is different. Usually after I wash my hair, I have a lot of shrinkage(thick, tight and nappy which I love) but now it is more manageable like chemicals were put in my hair.

When I got there I went straight to the back, got my hair washed, lady asked if I wanted conditioner(I said yes), and then I was blowdried and flat ironed. What do you ladies think? What's going on with my hair? I want my nappy hair back.

Not sure, but I know some naturals are very heat sensitive and with the blowouts and the heat it can cause heat damage where the hair when wet again looks like a relaxer has been placed in it. I have hair like that.

So there was no heat protection used during this blowout?

No, no heat protection. Before I went to the salon I deep conditioned my hair and that's about it. I have been natural for 3 yrs now and this was second time I had a blowout (first time at the Dominican Salon).
