  • Yes. I've learned to be content with the amount of hair they grow per month.

Well my growth has been great, I started between shoulder and apl in July 2008 and I am about 1/2 from bsl now. But my hair is so thin in spots that when you look at my hair compared to someone with thick hair, it does not look like mine is as long, so the thickness bothers me moreso than the length.

If that makes sense

Kinda - because I'm impatient.

Unmeddled with, I get 1/4 inch a month. That's growth, and I usually retain most of it - it's just slow. That's why I use growth aids. When I use consistently, I'm chugging along at 3/4 inch a month, and I still retain it all - and that makes me happy.

im not sure how much i get a month but i think it's a good amount because i can grow out color fast. and when i cut bangs they grow out super fast too. so maybe i get 1 inch per month.

At the moment I am happy, but if I dont make APL by June that will be another story.

Growing natural hair that is 4Z has been a real character builder for me especially in patience, although I am still a work in progress.

I think when I have been at this for 10 years maybe then I will feel satisfied with the growth process, but only working at this healthy hair care for 4 of the past what 16-17 years I feel like a babe in the woods still and have the temperment to prove it sometimes when the length is not where I think it should be.:perplexed:ohwell:

Don't let me start comparing my hair to someone else who has been at this the same amount of time or shorter than I have been their hair was much shorter than mine and their hair is now longer than mine and growing like weeds......GEESH, the geen eye monster comes to visit for a hot minute. But I can't fault a sistah who has it growing on...I digress...

Anyway, am I satisfied with the length I have achieved? Yes, but I want more and I want it sooner than later. :yep: Pitiful, I know. :yep:

Also need to add, I have to be in another mindest when I look at my shrinkage, RAW, UPCLOSE and PERSONAL!!!!

i guess i'm satisfied with the length i achieve

but not satisfied with the length i retain.

which is why i'm going for a hardcore low manipulation and protective styling regimen this year. hopefully it works out for the best.

What was already said. I'm happy with the growth, but apparently I am having an issue retaining (wash n go = bad ends) which I hope to overcome with these braids in my head.

ITTA! I can relate..........

I have to say yes. To be honest with you, I don't have any idea how fast my hair grows or how many inches I get pure month. My biggest concern is retaining my length.

I voted Kind of. I mean, I am happy with the amount of growth I get (1/2 an inch per month) but I wish I was able to retain it all without set backs.

I voted no but I'm just glad that its growing. I wish it was growing faster...like I want to be APL yesterday. This thread kind of makes me sad because I'm nowhere near my goals.

:perplexed I am with you, I just had a set back with major breakage and shedding from GA's and I just don't feel I will reach my goal even a month or two later than expected. :(

At the moment I am happy, but if I dont make APL by June that will be another story.

My goal was May 09; due to set back I doubt I will reach it, new goal is end of June 09. Don't know about that either.

Ladies keep pushing!

I'm relaxed and I should have been APL twice by now. Unfortunately the progress I gained while wearing sew-ins, was never retained if that makes sense because of lack of moisture.

yes I am satisfied I have about 5 inches of new growth in the last 9 months I have been transitioning, hopefully I will have about 13-14 inches by the time I chop

Most of my hair is waistlength. But what upsets me is my crown -- where my layers are. Some of them are still shoulder-length after I've been growing them out for years. It's frustrating because I want them to catch up to my hair; then I want my whole head to be tailbone length.

I wish it could grow a little bit faster. My hair grows soooo slow. But then again, I don't eat right, I drink no water, and I don't use growth aids. Maybe I should try...

I was very satisifed with my growth before I reached SL, now I wish my hair would grow faster. I'm itching to reach APL.
