Hello Ladies,

I am new to the site and I am just sending a message to get some feed back on Kinky Curl Products?

Anyone have any input they can give me on this product?:drunk:

I'm loving the KKNT. It's has a light weight feel on the hair and smells great! I only use a dime size though when I do WnGs or else I get crunchy hair.

I'm not so crazy about the KKCC. It's like a gel and to me is really sticky. I don't use it as much as the KKNT but I think it would be great for twist outs and such.

Oh! And it smells great! I'm sure if you did a search, there's a thread on this somewhere here. HTH :)

I've gotten the best wash n go results when using KCKT (Kinky Curly Knot Today) and KCCC (Kinky Curly Curling Custard), but only together. I haven't found the right products to use when mixing and matching.

I love KCKT and KCCC - they have been my staples from day 1. I've tried many products (many!) and I always go back to them.

Thank you Amerie, I am still getting use to locating different reviews on products on here. This definitely helps. I think I will definitely give it a try.

thanks for starting this thread OP! i wonder does the Custard prevent tangles and knots? i have it, but i don't care for it at all. it doesn't stretch out my coils like Ecostyler gel does.

I wouldn't repurchase. I got better styling results with eco styler than with KCCC. Eco elongates better and is way less expensive. And applying KCCC is a difficult process. I like Knot Today but not enought to re-buy. The spiral spritz I don't recommend because you can't actually use it like a sprtiz. Overall, the products define curls but to the point they it makes the curls draw up tight but not elongate.

Good to know!!!!

I like it although I haven't used it for twists and whatnot just shingling. I prefer it over ecostyler because ecostyler no matter the application method causes my ends to tangle up and doesn't last as long as KCCC. I don't do shingle sets often so the price balances out to be not so bad.

I get the best wash n go's with KCCC and KCKT! KCKT is the best detangler. I get the best results when I apply on wet hair, making sure there are no knots or tangles while applying KCKT, then I go light on the KCCC. Applying too much KCCC makes my hair hard.

I've only tried the KCKT leave-in and the KCCC shampoo and I have to admit, both products were quite disappointing.

Although the leave-in is a great detangler, it didn't really do much for my hair moisture wise, which is the main reason I bought it. And as for the shampoo, it was so incredibly stripping!!! It made my hair feel like straw!! I will definitely not be buying any of their products again.

I've used the KCCC with a water/glycerin mist for my twists. The best twists I've ever had. Had them for a full week, no unraveling and no frizz. Then wore it for a twist out for another week no loss of definition. I haven't tried any other products yet to see how they compare but if they don't I will be going back to it.

Can't use it or Eco Styler for a WNG. My hair does not stretch nor do my curls elongate. :ohwell: Just a waste of time trying that.

KCKT and KCCC give me the best wash n gos. I use KCKT for detangling too. To help stretch it out I put a little on my hair on top of the conditioner to detangle, then rinse and put a little more on to leave in. I have not tried the other Kinky Curly products though.

It's the best combo I've tried. All the rest pale in comparison. Eco olive oil is second best with the Knot today, but I have to use so much of it!:ohwell:

All I have to say is that these are my holy grail staples. If you purchase them, make sure you follow the directions on usage. Once you've got the hang of it then start experimenting.

the best wash n go's for me are from kknt and kkcc. everytime i use it, i get people coming up to me asking how i was able to get my wash 'n go to look so good. (not to brag lol) i've tried the eco styler, i've trie miss jessie's, i've tried curls curl creme brule and it usually looks dry and doesnt turn out right. everytime i wonder why don't i just stick with what works. i've also used design essentials daily oil moisturizer instead of kknt and under kkcc and gotten great results.

i get big perfect shiny ringlets and the best WnG's from KCCC with minimal frizz, and it lasts a few days, but the shrinkage is ridiculous...i already have insane shrinkage, and KCCC takes me to a TWA if i don't stretch and diffuse...you have to figure out the perfect combo for your hair and be sure not to used too much or you can get crunchy hair...i have enough KCCC to last the rest of the summer because i use it sparingly, and i'll probably repurchase again in the spring...alot of ppl say KCCC is comparable to Ecostyler (which i love for buns/ponies/slicking edges), but most of the time Ecostyler is too heavy for WnGs for me, and i have to use alot, but with KCCC i probably use a quarter size all over.

I don't care for KCCC- it's too sticky and I couldn't get 2nd day hair. I prefer Ecostyler gel.

The Knot Today is the truth though as a detangler, and creamy base for leave ins.

iri9109 EcoStyler is too heavy for me too

I love KCCC & KCKT for wash and goes. I tried KCCC with Suave Naturals as my leave-in the other day and the results were great.

I'm pushing up this older thread for further discussion on KCCC and Eco Styler. My daughter used the Eco. I watched Kimmaytube's review but found her pushing toward KCCC...it wasn't as unbiased as she thought (I know how u feel when u love a product!). One thing I like that she included in her test, stickiness. Eco is stickier. She also mentioned that it was lighter in feel on the hair and dried faster. This is why we haven't purchased the KCCC. My daughter's hair is not average, it's incredibly dense 3b hair and she washes or rinses daily.

I'm thinking that, if she did the KCCC or rinsed with a light solution of apple cider vinegar, that would close the cuticle (Kimmaytube mentioned the higher acidity of the KCCC and it's effect to close the cuticle). I am also thinking that my daughter might wish to use Infusium as a "detangler/conditioner" like the KCKT before the application of the gel. What I'd like her to do is go a winter without wet hair. Her Eco definition/anti-frizz lasts roughly 2 days. Does KCCC last longer? Any suggestions on how to make the Eco results like the KCCC?

I'm newly natural for the 2nd time. The 1st time around, KCCC was my go to for curl definition. However, I think I only fell in love because I went for a product consultation at a local natural hair salon & was taught the "proper" way to use it. I really think that it gets a bad rep simply because of incorrect usage.

If you decide to try it, I cannot stress enough - a little goes a long way. Also, I was taught to layer on a leave-in before applying the KCCC. I used Giovanni back then. And you always want to use it on soaking wet hair. Also, I was taught to spray water on after applying the KCCC. Using the shingling method, I would spray the water on top of the KCCC & then make sure the product was stretched/evenly distributed down the length of my hair. Hope that makes sense...
