@delightfulflame: What is the cayenne pepper oil doing for your hair? Also, how are the frequent dustings working out for you? I read the thread on this board and was trying to see exactly who does the frquent dustings, and how it works for them. I've done it for the last two months but haven't really noticed a change because I wear a braidout everyday and it's been about 4 months since my last relaxer.

Let me know.

I read on this site that the cayenne pepper is a mild irritant to the scalp and it causes the blood to flow to the scalp to stimulate growth. I mix some in some oil and let it sit for about a week. Then I oil my scalp with it and leave it on for a while before I shampoo. I believe it may be working...my longest twist went from being 4.5" to 5" in less than two weeks. Of course I can't say what exactly caused it, but the cayenne is a keeper!

I dust my ends regularly according to the lunar schedule. That keeps my ends in check and keeps me from having to cut major length off. I trim my hair in twists by clipping a very small amount off the ends (maybe 1/4"). You haven't had a relaxer in a while, but when you do...I'm sure you'll get a pleasant surprise!

Wow, that sounds like good stuff...and if I mix it with Olive Oil, I should be able to cook with it as well. :scratchchin:

Count Me In......

I'm a reformed PJ soooo I am using what's under my sink and in my closet

I am currently mixing my conditioners and adding a little bit of castor oil.
I condition wash
Pull back in a bun and on special occassions I'll do an dry roller set.

Me!!

Regimen:

-Shampoo w/ Motions Lavishing Shampoo

-Condition w/ Queen Helene Cholestrol

-Apply Soft Touch grease by UltraSheen to hairline, newgrowth/scalp, and ends before rollersetting

-Dry and set under hooded dryer

-Curl and straighten w/ ceramic curling iron

Maintenance:

-Sleep w/ rollers @ night

(OT - :scratchch I guess I am low-maintenance huh? lol)

  1. Shampoo - Cream of Nature shampoo mixed with suave strawberry shampo
  2. Conditioner - Suave Humectant mixed with whatever I have on hand and spiked with a little honey and coconut oil.
  3. Moisturizer - Care Free Gold(when I wear my hair in a baggie), coconut oil or Kemi oyl

1) Shampoo with shampoo bar once a week (ingredients: shea butter, honey for humectant, coconut milk for moisture, rosemary oil for growth, lime oil for clarifying, aloe vera for healing)

2) Twist/bantu knots with shealoe butter or shea butter (this is done after washing and I wear a twistout the rest of the week. I detangle only once a week after I wash while twisting each section.)

3) Emu oil every night all along hairline for growth.

Cost of my product has gone waaaayyyyy down!

@ delightfulflame: I got your response and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the pleasant surprise.

BTW, my regimine is simple as well:

Wash --CON(detangle w/ shampoo, it's easier)
Condition--LeKair Cholesterol
Leave-In--African Daily Dr., castor oil, water (in spray bottle)

Airdry

Braidout everyday using Kemioyl Shea Pomade on my ends and castor oil on my "kitchens"

That's it!

As a recovered PJ, Im happy to say Im keeping it simple and its working

Shampoo: nexxus therappe or CON(when I have a lot of new growth)
Conditioner: nexxus humectress(will switch to generic when out)
Leave in: salerm or NTM (depends on whether hair feels weak vs dry
moisturizer: Elasta QP recovery and S-curl......coconut oil when needed

thats about it! my styles are usually raggedy...on a good day it will be a braidout or twistout ....on a bad day a raggedy ponytail or bun. I want to start doing more rollersets.

Pre-Poo: Suave Milk and Honey Conditioner/Evoo or OIL It UP
Shampoo: Nexxus Therappe
Conditioner: Nexxus Humectress
Protein: Nexxus Keraphix & Emergencee
Leave-in: Elasta QP H-Two

I have other products that I only use for specific purposes but more often than not I only use the above products.

My styles: cornrows, bun, bun/half down, chignon, curly (rodset), down, ponytail, or ponytail/half down.

I keep it simple too:

Shampoo:
Generic Nexxus Therappe (or something like that)
Keracare Moisturizing detangling shampoo

Conditioner:
Generic Nexxus Humctress
Kerecare Humecto
Motions CPR
Aphogee (hard core protein)

Moisturizers:
Profectiv breakfree
Motions cream

Routine styling: whatever looks good that day. I don't use any special protective styles, and I wear it down when I can.

I keep it very simple.
99% of the time I only use:

*Shampoo - any shampoo for dry hair
*Conditioner/Deep conditioner - Wella for dry hair
*Oil (olive or jojoba) - pure vegetable oils
*Regular skin lotion - any lotion that I use for my body at the time

I don't believe in stuffing my hair full of products, my hair likes oils best.

I forgot to add what styles I wear:
*Buns 80% of the time
*1 braid or two braids
*Ponytail

I wear my hair down maybe once a month or so.
