Joico Chelating Shampoo

So, something was igging me to "chelate" my hair for whatever reason.
(I've never done it before... and I might have clairifed once in my life).

However, I purchased Joico Chelating Shampoo at Walmart (they have a salon selling it). I did the 2 minute chelating method, and all of a sudden al my curls started popping.

Mind you, I lightly texturized maybe in October and minus the noticeably straighter front, it doesn't look like I did ANYTHING.

All of a sudden the curls have curls...
And I'm not even going to talk about how great the deep conditioner took after the fact.

BASICALLY: Ladies, chelate every once in a while.

I chelate once a month with Kenra. I dilute it so I can use it with the applicator bottle (I miss the scalp if I don't do this). I love it!

Yes :yep: . I feel like I have a completely different head of hair.

I chelated for the first time last week. I also tried the one by Kenra (thanks HoneyDew!). I really like it. My hair did not feel stripped like I was expecting. I did not realize how much build-up i had from my hard water. my hair felt softer, smoother and more elastic (I did a strand test) afterwards. Also, my DC worked 10X better. my hair felt so much more moisturized, had a ton more slip and I was able to use less conditioner to saturate my hair.

Where are y'all getting your chelating shampoo? I maybe late on this one, I've been trying to find one because it seems like clarifying is not cutting it anymore.

Doesn't a shampoo have to contain sulfates in order to chelate? Or am I mistaken?

I love to chelate too. My hair color looks so deep and rich right after a good chelating. Until I did it, I never had anyone comment on the color or "richness" of my hair; now I've heard it twice in one month. I use the Quantam shampoo from Sally's. It has a lot of sulfates in it, but it's not nearly as drying or stripping as you would think it is.

Are these shampoos sulfate free?

This Joico Shampoo is not sulfate free. I use the Pureology Purify cause it Chelates and Clarifies, and i live in a hard water area. Make sure you do a good DC after this cause it does clean the hair very well.
