Anyone who watches Gossip Girl knows that she has never been seen on the show with her hair in its natural state. Maybe it conflicts with the background her character is supposed to have on the show? IRL, she's of Hungarian and African-American descent. As far as I've seen, she never wears her hair kinky off set either.

Isn't she supposed to be a white girl on the show? If so, then I doubt we'll ever see her natural hair on TV.

I think on the show she is supposed to be Latina but I don't know if its ever been explicitly stated.
 
Her hair is gorgeous! I never would have thought she had such curly hair.

I think that look would actually go better with the whole bohemian/artsy thing that Vanessa has going on- not that I want her to have any more airtime... LOL!
 
she is beautiful! i wish she could be black on the show, instead of playing up whiteness. she is totally gorgeous as is.​
 
I think Hollywood always desires straight hair. It's not a white or black thing. Even stars like Nicole Kidman, once she became A list, immediately straightened those curly locks and started rocking straighter styles whereas when she was in the shadow of Tom (and practically non existent as an artist on the A list radar) she wore it curly. Hollywood has always favored sleeker, straighter, hair. I do think she has gorgeous curls though
 
Wow, I didn't realize how beautiful she was until I saw this post. I watch Gossip Girl but the show doesn't do her justice. Geez they shoot all the time, it must take a toll on her locks. To have it that straight in all the episodes.
 
Yes I CARE!! I am a big Gossip Girl fan!! I didn't know she was of African American descent. Her hair is absolutely beautiful!!!!! Thank you very much for posting!!

Yes! I love Gossip Girl. And her hair is fly! It's always straightened on the show! Can't lie, you got me ready for this next season, it's going to be nuts!:grin:

Yes her character is Latina on the show. It was explicitly stated by her I remember in an episode when she started getting serious with Nate and they were telling each other about thier families a little bit.

I discovered just at the end of season 1 that she was part African American. Her natural hair is gorgeous.
 
Love her hair! I was really surprised about her african/american and hungarian background, I liked her even more after that because my daughter has that same mix. My hubby is half hungarian.
 
Some (many) people look better with natural hair. She's one of them.

Now seeing her natural hair, would it appear that her hair on show is a wig? Something about the colour.

Interesting. She's one of those that doesn't even look black (to me) with straight hair. :scratchch
Her natural hair is very pretty!
