I don't have the two items you purchased but I like 99.9% of her products that I have tried so far but it's no fault of her products about that -.01%. I tried the cowash cleanser and honestly, it performed well, but I realize I like sudsy cleansers/shampoos more.

I prefer the lotion over the balm. Only because Im lazy about greasing my scalp. I guess you could use it to twist with. I like her entire ginger root line but thw lotion is my favorite.
