I had a problem with dermatitis on my scalp. I put JBCO in an applicator bottle and apply it all over my scalp then massage it in every night before bed. I haven't had any dry scalp issues since. I can go weeks without washing if I wanted to, before I would have to wash every 3 days because the flakes would be so unsightly and my scalp would be itching like crazy.

I ordered the Lavendar one fr. SAMs. I should be getting it on Monday, I'm eager to see what it smells like.

I just cut about 2 inches due to the frustration of wanting thicker hair. :wallbash: I wish I would have just added JBCO to my regimen. I've used it my last 3 washes ( I wash twice a week) I have experiened noticible thickness and little to no shedding.

I mix 2 tablespoons of JBCO with 2 teaspoons of Cod Liver Oil (generic brand). Warm it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. Apply it to my scalp and let sit for 20 mins. Then mix 1 egg yolk with 1-2 tablespoons of my current shampoo. I apply it to wet hair and let it sit for 1 min, rinse then follow up with conditioner.

My shampoo already contains castor oil but since I've added JBCO, Cod Liver Oil and egg yolk to my regimen my hair looks and feels even better.

I have a question about beauty of new york; there is a store pickup as an option; can I just go there?
Is it an actual bss?

I just received my JBCO today and cannot wait to use it later tonight! This is a great post and I am taking notes.

I just found a store that sells it in my city. Kind of expensive 4oz for 5.99.

I wonder how I will use it...maybe mix some in with coconut oil.

It does have a very distinct smell.

I'm still anxious to try the lavender scented JBCO, I went back to the BSS and they only still had the regular brand. After the reviews on here I'm really exited to try it. I guess I'll just use the regular brand for now.

Has anybody else who's oiling their scalp noticed their newgrowth coming in wavy?

Im natural bg, i don't want to speak too soon but i feel like my hair is a little thicker. I use jbco in everything though.

So I got my castor oil today at work and eagerly opened it and took a whiff. It still smells heavily of black castor oil w/ a tinge of Lavendar. Then it dawned on me, I have lavendar EO at home, I coulda made this myself  . Instead I paid like $7 for shipping when I coulda just bought this from the bss around the corner and add my essential lavendar oil to it.

I tried this last week as I had one bottle of JBCO that is a quarter full and organic lavender essential oil. The smell of JBCO has never bothered before but I was still surprised at how much lavender essential oil I had to add before I could smell it :)

I usually don't use castor oil on my twists, but I decided to use it last week. I took the twists out on Thursday to wear a twistout. This is the first time EVER that I've been able to wear a twistout for more than two days. Usually by the third day my hair looks a mess and I have to redo it. Today is day six and my hair still looks presentable. Castor oil is definitely a keeper!!

How much lavender EO are you guys putting in the castor oil?

I have never used JBCO, but I put regular castor oil on my scalp after a wash. It's very healing and my hair stays soooo soft.

I know some oils moisturize. Is this one of them??? Just curious...

Ok where can I get this Haitian oil?? Give it to me!! NOW!!!
I dont know if it sold online,or will be the real deal.
I bought mine locally from a Haitian guy that sell it in his store.
PM me with your Address and I will send you some to sample.

this past weekend i mixed some jbco with honey and my oyin HH conditioner. i rinsed it out without shampooing or anything else and my hair was lovely. HH conditioner is amazing by itself but with jbco and honey i was on cloud nine.

im thinking about ordering another bottle or 2 since i only have 1 four oz bottle that'll be gone in no time since i plan on using it in all my conditioners.

:grin:Yeh, the smell of the original doesn't bother me. When I first put it in my hair I can smell it a little and then the next day I can't smell it anymore, I only smell my conditioner. I just have to have the lavender one because err-body else got it, and I have to have it too!

*I added pics of my newgrowth so far, I began using JBCO on Nov 8 2009. My newgrowth is coming in more wavy, it never looks wavy like this.
