A tall girl support thread is not a bad idea. When I pull my hair up and play around with it in a high pony tail I actually cannot believe how long it is. But when it hangs its only shoulder length. I know it's the long neck that is causing that. But I LOVE being tall. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. So, I wouldn't trade it. I do agree that it will take us longer to reach our goal. I think about that every time I see those measurement shirts. LOL!
 
From nape to shouler 5 inches and from shoulder to armpit 5.5 inches and nape to waist is 22 inches. That is a long way to go. I forgot my height 5'8.5 but I just round down to 5'8".
 
I understand your tall pains. I'm 5'10" and I have about 12 inches until my goal of MBL. I hope my terminal length will allow me to gain that much length...:look::ohwell:
 
I'm 5'8 and I think it all depends. Just because someone is short doesn't mean that there torso can't be as long as a tall persons. It all depends. And it's too many types of bodies to even try to compare lol(long torso short legs, short torso long legs, etc).
 
I'm 5'8". I'm just lucky most of my height is in my legs... It use to SUCK though before they started making pants in long... flooding while going to school was not fun! Do you know how many kids point that out? And the fact that I could NEVER wear shorts because they had to be mid-thigh but the girl who was 5'2" had on the same shorts and they would never say ANYTHING to her.... Uh... sorry... flashbacks... :look:
 
I know how you feel. I'm 5'10"; SL is 23" for me and right now, I'm 16". I'm just happy when my hair looks and feels good. I try not to focus on length.

I'm 5'7" myself which isn't very tall at all

SL to APL is around 4"
APL to BSL is another 4"
BSL to MBL is 4"
 
Well Im only 5'1" :grin: I never really thought about having a long torso, neck, legs etc. Im your average short, petite person. Im hoping to make APL by May 2011
 
I'm 5"8ish and my legs are about 1 inch shorter than my SO who is 6"4.., these threads make me self conscious about my short torso :look: lol
 
Bublin it just might take you a little bit longer seeing that you are taller..

I am 5'4" also :grin::grin:

It didn't take me long to get SL to APL... APL to BSL... I thought it would be difficult but when I learned the art of retention I was good......

I know the feeling. I am 5 foot 8 and I straightened my hair a couple of weeks ago and I was thinking I know my hair is long and I have a lot of hair but it doesn't look long on me. I am thankful because it is healthy.

5'11 and 1/2 signing in lol.....I just take the growth as it comes too. I noticed this phenomenon when I was observing a girls hair who sits in front of me in class. I was like her hair is thick and long (she's APL), but then I noticed it didnt seem like alot of hair, like if I had it it wouldnt seem as impressive lmao

I didn't realize you were that tall, Bublin!
And I definitely see where you're coming from. I'm only 4'10" with a short torso so I can see how reaching my goals will be a lot quicker. However, like other posters have said - I'd rather be tall with your hair as is now (which, in the real world is still considered long) and have to wait longer, than to be treated like a child all the time to people who think I am WAY younger than I am just because I'm short! There's pros and cons to everything!
 
I'm 5'10 and have been having the same thoughts. Oh well.

On the plus side, just like our hair, we can gain weight and the pounds take longer to show. Also, we can reach lots of hair care products on the top aisles without asking for help, LOL.

Its nice knowing there are so many other tall women on this site.
 
I am petite at 5'2 and love it,

I am
APL from Hair line to back 19 inches,
BSL 22 inches,
MBL 25 inches and
Waist is 27 inches.

I haven't measured past that :)

Height can be one factor, slow growth can be another, we are all growing hair so thank goodness for that :D
 
I guess I never really paid attention to how height factored in to my hair goals, but I can see how it would take longer for the length to show on someone taller.

I'm 5'6" 1/2 and my mum stands at barely 5 '. Last time I saw her, we were standing side by side and I realized my hair would be a little past waist on her. She has a little " baby back" and it takes no time for hair to show length on her. The hair doesn't have far to travel to get to her little waist.

Yup, I'm 5'10 and 1/2 and getting past SL is taking FOREVER. However, I don't have a long neck so getting to SL didn't take that long. But whoa baby, SL to APL is a milestone!!

And like someone else said, I love being able to find that last bottle on the top shelf nobody else could reach LOL.
 
Dad nabbit, I am 6 inches from shoulder to APL, and I don't get to whine because I"m 5'2". My torso is average, I have short legs.

Then again... Once I hit APL, then BSB is not very far away at all.

Y'all keep telling me I have all these advantages and it ticks me off because I WISH I did! I really want long hair the easy way. I REALLY do!
 
I read in a blog a few weeks ago that due to the spherical nature of the head that 12in should b right around bsl for everyone I'm 5'10 and I just got a 12in install and it does fall to almost bsl. So maybe height doesnt really have as much of an impact on the amt of inches your hair need to fall a certian place afterall. unless weave hair is diferent than real hair (if that makes sense)
 
I feel you. But I alse realized that being tall has its hair benefits. For example, APL length hair looks really long on me. My goal is BSB, but that might actually look crazy.

Same here. It will be really long compared to someone else's hair who is shorter. My goal is APL. I'm good after that. Now if I could just get there. :wallbash:

That's funny because 12" on me is somewhere between SL and APL. I would have to install 14" for it to fall BSL. Maybe it depends on the size and shape of the head?

ETA: I'm only 5'8". I thought I put that in there.

and neck length! I do believe the shape of the head has something to do with it. Check out some of the tutorials on wigs, Same wig but some women it looks chin and others it is at their shoulders go figure.......:look:
