.Not at the article, just OT:
Why do they make it seem like every step is a "process". Like we have to do SOOOOOOOO much to care for our hair.
We really dont do that much extra: wash, condition, a few special treatments here and there.
There is a white-Hispanic I work with now with 2b/c (I suppose) hair that could stand a deep condition or two and some protein.
Even we want to believe that our hair is 'extra', so I'm not surprised he would say so. Not at the article, just OT:

You and me both! My comment about not doing much to our hair wasn't received well either in a thread.I tried to say that in a thread recently, but it wasn't well received.Even we want to believe that our hair is 'extra', so I'm not surprised he would say so.

I feel you on that. I know a few white coworkers that could benefit from a deep conditioner. LOL I bought one of them some Salerm for her b-day and she loves it. She asked me how I got my hair to 'Shine'....not everybody knows what to do with their hair, even if they don't have problems growing/retaining.
That **** look a hot mess. She has to be using mousse and scrunching for curls/waves......the alchohol has dried her hair out, then she has streaky hightlights
.Am I the only one wondering what's the big deal about hair types? Other than gleaning any useful information about what sort of products work best for my type, I really don't care.
