Is this true about MTG

I thought i read somewhere on the board about not using MTG two weeks before your relaxer. Is that true?

yes its true. It will BURN. I personally wait 3-4 weeks and clarify on my last shampoo b4 relaxing.

I have NOT found this to be true at all. I usually stop just a few days before the touch-up. No burning or irritation what so ever, and the relaxer takes just fine.

I use a no-lye relaxer, however, so this could possibly account for why......

I usually clarify my hair a few days before my relaxer, to get all the MTG off my scalp ...I haven't had any problems so far.
