Deep Conditioning without heat is conditioning your hair; not "deep conditioning". It is the heat that allows the conditioner to penetrate the hair shaft.
 
No, heat is not necessary. You don't have to use heat if you don't want to.
 
It's not necessary, but I believe it works better than w/o.
 
I like the results but i like to do it once in a while because i want to conserve electricity. besides the results are just as good when using a plastic cap and a warm towel.

I loved it for my relaxed hair, but I don't like what it does to my natural hair.
 
My hair loves deep conditioning, either a warm towel or heat cap at least once a month. Without it my hair feels crunchy. :(
 
I do it now without my microwave cap since I overheated it and had to throw it out. I am just as happy with the results without it, for now, but I will do it from time to time once I get another cap. Using my hooded dryer is a lot of extra work and I feel too grounded as I cannot move about. So far my hair has not suffered from not using heat. bonjour
