is BSL the *gold* standard for hair?

BSL is gold for me too. I have about 5 1/2in to go in the back, but my sides are a different story. I have my hair in braids right now( crown & glory method ) and will do this non-stop until- may 05 by then we'll see what type of progess I'll make. /images/graemlins/up.gif

I picked BSL because when I first joined LHCF I read in a thread that BSL is a length that is supposed to be obtainable by everyone regardless of hair type. It also said that longer than that is affected by genetics etc. So from what I took from that thread not everyone can grow waist length hair but they can get to BSL...I made it my goal because I really don't know if any longer is possible for me...but I will try and see if I can go longer when I get there.

I've always wanted my hair long enough to cover my breasts. I believe that's bottom of the bra strap in the back.

BSL is my ultimate goal I could not manage hair longer than BSL it would be too hard.

I've always been able to grow my hair to my shoulders, but I've always wanted to grow it longer than that. Now since joining this board an learning how to take care of my hair the right way my hair is 3' from my bra strap. Once I reach that I'm aiming for waist lenght. I pretty much want to see how long I can grow my hair before I decide what lenght to stop at.

I noticed that many members had this goal. I never really questioned it [to each his own]. My goal is thick, healthy, shoulder-length hair.

The only reason why I am aiming for the strap is because I am so close. I have a few more months to go. After that, I'll have a new goal.

But to tell you the truth, my first goal when I joined was to get to shoulderlength. My second goal was 23", and then I had brastrap. When I made each goal I changed my goal to a new one. Now that I cut my hair, my hair goal is now brastrap again.

I've had BSL & longer most of my life.
Now that I'm natural, shoulder length while curly is my *gold* standard... now that I think about it, that's prolly gonna be BSL stretched!
