Is Blowdrying hair with the cool shot still bad for hair?

When I'm stretching relaxers I blow dry my roots on the cool setting all the time. My stylist calls it "assisted air dry".

I don't feel this is damaging at all. The heat is what breaks down the hair an causes potential damage.

I'm not sure, but I'm very heat sensitive and I have had no issues with blow drying on cool.

I just researched this and was curious. I revisited my Gold and Hot blowdryer and saw it has two separated settings. I placed both on low and it blows out warm/cool air. More cool than warm. This help out alot today, cause I was able to comb thru the new growth. Just wanted to make sure I was not going down setback road.

It's fine for my hair but I still use a heat protectant. I agree with the "assisted airdrying" motto.

Blowdrying your hair with cool air by itself wouldn't be bad for the hair. But if comb attachments or brushing is involved it could possibly cause a little damage. When you're brushing and using cold air the hair dries slower than it would if you were using warm/hot air so you'd be brushing your hair more which could cause problems (ie split ends). I usually alternate the two when whenever I blowdry....just my two cents.:yep:

I agree but I NEVER brush wet hair. I do use the comb attachment though:look: on sectioned thoroughly detangled hair. You have to be careful.:yep:
