Is anything ever...

Okay, I know this is going to sound REALLY stupid. But I just want to know what you ladies think. Someone I know is getting to know another, and their favorite colors yellow ( the female's) and brown (the male's). Now the lady he's talking made a picture on his PC in paint with yellow symbolizing her, brown him, and white, God being above and between them.
Now she went to her sister's house, and found the towels in the bathroom, were those three colors after she (in an absent-mind) chose the color of her towel and came out of the shower...
Personally, I REALLY don't think this is any manifestation of God, and they obviously need to pray for a real answer...
But it made me wonder... is anything ever just coincidence?

Yes, it does sound like a coincidence, but I will say this...sometimes things that seem meaningless to most people may acutally mean something to another person. God deals with everyone in His own way and according to their personality. There have been times and there still are times when He will reveal something to me in a way that anyone else would think I was crazy to think it was a sign from God, but I know when God is speaking to me and He knows how to communicate to me in a way that I don't miss what He is trying to tell me if I am in tune and my heart is open to hearing from Him.

Yes , coincedence. Also, when we depend on "signs" more than God's word, the enemy plays on that and will place things in front of us to cause us to make choices based on "signs".

But, God does speak to us in our language but confirms it through His word. And what I mean by that is, if He knows you tend to notice numbers like myself, He will repeat numbers to get my attention. BUT IT MUST be confirmed through His word or else the enemy will have you running in circles and behaving like a mystic!

I agree w/the poster above! Signs are generally misleading! The enemy can turn and manipulate things to our liking to trick and confuse us. This is why the Lord wants us to be dependent and to trust him on his word moreso rather than relying on signs. Our faith will never be built on what we see but that which is unseen.

Not to say that the Lord doesn't use signs, he still does but will confirm anything he uses through his word, the Holy Spirit, or out of the mouth of two or three witnesses who usually have no knowledge of the situation. If none of these things occur and there is a constant state of confusion or lack of peace then its safe to dismiss it as a sign from God.

God makes everthing clear in his timing, I would say to your friend to not get too caught up on the sign itself but to ask God for confirmation. He will confirm in time if it was indeed him! She should wait and be prepared to accept the answer, no matter what the Lord decides! God bless!

I've never heard about confirming through 2 or 3 witnesses, could you please explain that? I've even had more than one person in God say things to me once, and it turned out not to be true. Otherwise, ITA ladies thanks

Co-incidences do occur with me often in adjunct to other behaviors.....
I also believe in the spiritual realm there are no accidents...Everything about me was written before I was conceived and happens.....not randomly....though random to me...but never without the Lord's knowlege and divine Hand

the general rule with anyone, anything of life..is a close relationship with God who instructs one and is underlined, given & written in the Word

1 John 4:1,
The Spirit of Truth and the Spirit of Error
1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

(James 1:5 KJV) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

(1 Kings 3:9 KJV) Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad:

"Out of the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established." This is a general biblical principal to assess whether or not something has been spoken of God. Its also a way for other christians to consider accusations against one another to be truthful.

This principal is used in many contexts throughout the word, but if you believe you have heard a word from the Lord then this is one way he may and will indeed confirm it!

Beware of people that constantly give you false prophecies. Its one thing to miss God and we all do at some point but consistent prophesying that never manifest should be regarded as a red flag towards that brethen.

Anyhoo, when the Lord promised Abraham a son, he later sent his angels in the form of three men to confirm his word. He also did the same thing at Jesus's birth. Three wise men were sent to confirm that Jesus was to be the savior of the world! There are many more examples like this in the word on which God's truth was established. Remember, its just one of the ways. God also uses the word or holy spirit to confirm also.

I've never heard about confirming through 2 or 3 witnesses, could you please explain that? I've even had more than one person in God say things to me once, and it turned out not to be true. Otherwise, ITA ladies thanks
