Loving this thread! Cause I'm fed up with my hair! Was life better before LHCF? Hmmm... It just now seems like I'm obsessed with my hair - with growing it, thickening it, moisturizing it, deep-conditioning it, protecting it (who the hell protects their hair?! what the hell am I protecting it from?!), etc. I notice women's hair on the streets. I look at the back of women's heads in church instead of paying attention to the Preacher. I've become a product junkie. I'm scared to even go to the salon cause I'm afraid she'll make me lose more hair than I myself might lose at home.
It's like I'm a hostage to my hair!!!!!!!! :wallbash: And after ALL of this, I still have a fricking thin hairline!!!!!!! :perplexed

ITA! It's like my hair is saying, "*****, if you do this, then I'll start shedding on your ***!" :freakout: I had a couple of set backs through my journey over the past year and I KNOW my hair would probably be at BSL by now. Although my hair is currently about 3 inches from BSL, I was set back a good 3 months earlier in the game. Hell, now I'm afraid to try anything new to it. Oh, and I found out quickly what my hair did not like (EVOO...MAKES IT SHEDD LIKE NO BODY'S BUSINESS!) Now, my hair has told me to just KISS it (Keep It Simple Stupid)!

Bye ladies...Off to class!

HELP!!! I have been treating my hair and scalp since august/2007 with castor oil, and MTG and I do not see any new growth whatsoever. Does this mean that my hair is just hopelessy damaged and will never grow? I drink water, taking vitamins I mean come on now. I have seen tiny spurts of hair on the edges but thats its. Sighs. Any suggestions anyone? I am about to give up and accept the fact that my hair will never grow again.

I feel for you.
For me, moisture is key. When I learned what type of moisture my hair likes, it changed everything. We also have to protect our ends.
HTH

Dont give up. Keep going.

Hair grows in cycles.

Mannn..You Ladies Were Reading My Mind:yep: I Am Having Issues With Detangling After I Wash And I Really Hate That:wallbash: I Feel I Could've Had

So Much More Progress If I Had Success Detangling:sad:How Do You Ladies Detangle?Do You Detangle In The Shower Under

Running Water,Or Do You Detangle With Loads Of Condish W/ A Wide Tooth Comb In Sections?Help:pullhair:

Hey Atrinibeauty!

I can empathize with detangling issues. After I had a mishap with matted hair in my nape that lead to breakage I started washing in braids to keep that from ever happening again. This is what works for me:
  • I gently detangle before washing with my fingers with oil, detangler or conditioner and braid in sections (I do four)
  • I wash in these sections, then rinse, comb and detangle one section at a time with conditioner under the shower stream
  • CON poo in the green bottle is the best detangling poo I have ever used
  • also Pantene Breakage Defense Mask works great too as it has plenty of slip
  • if while rinsing out my main conditioner I need more slip, I add a few squirts of cheapie conditioner like VO5 or WRTC
Let us know how it goes! HTH ;)

Lately my hair has been having dryness issues and a little bit of brittleness on the ends that I could do without. Oh the joys of colder weather.

Basically I put too much protein in my hair and it was causing all kinds of ill affects.

So, here what I did to fix my problems...

* Deep conditioned
* I went to he hair dresser about a week later and had her do a very small trim to help even things out :yep:
