Ladies in a matter of seconds I went from on my way to reaching my goal of MBL at the end Dec 2010 to barely touching APL. All the months of the funky smell of MTG, wigs, protein treatments, deep conditioning etc. down the drain.
Prior to my appointment I explained to him my hair goals and that I had a setback in February when another stylist gave me a hair cut instead of a trim. I was so comfortable with him doing my hair after our previous conversation I was sleeping when he cut my hair. Sad thing is I had just had a trim a month prior from my other stylist who is an hour away which is why I decided to go to him in the first place and he knew this. I thought we were on the same page. NOT!!! I’m officially a do-it-yourselfer and will never let anyone touch my head ever again. Ladies trust no one!!!! Never let your guard down.
I’m usually lurking soaking up any hair tips I can from you lovely ladies. I will be doing tons of research on how to relax and trim my own hair. Thanks for letting me vent.

I think the summer heat is messing with SHS heads. This is like the tenthbillion post like this just from this month (mine included). The splitender is about to make some bank!

So sorry to hear that good thing is you have all the information right here to grow it back.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I don't let nobody cut my hair, even my stylist i've been going to for years. I did my own cut when i wanted to even up my hair.

Wow, OP! You fell asleep and this was the first time that he actually worked with your hair? Yikes! I'm sorry to hear of the mishap...We as consumers have got to be more careful!!!

^^^^^Do you think it's a conpiracy on the part of Stylist? Maybe there's a mole here divulging our secret society of dare-to-dream-hair and realizing they'll soon be out of business, are attempting to hang on by "cutting up"? Iono, sounds like sumfin's up!

Honestly, I am just so particular about my hair...even if I felt comfortable with the stylist, because I know how hard I have worked to get this far, I would still be giving him/her the side eye to make sure that a trim is just a trim...

I'm so sorry OP.

Yes, I NEVER let my stylist cut my hair. They are only useful for my highlights, THAT'S IT! On the bright side of this horrible situation is the fact that you still have some length. I've read too many stories on here where ladies go from APL/BSL to SL or below :nono:. At least your story is not THAT BAD. You'll reach your goal of MBL in no time!

Nubian,
I am so sorry, I feel your pain. Don't understand what's in the head in some of these stylist. Do they disengage their brain once the scissors get in their hands? Jealousy? And I thought male stylist were above doing this craziness!
i too would like to become a DYI. I can do my own cuts, but I'm too scared of the relaxer.
I admire your determination.
