I gotta get myself back syked up about doing my hair. I haven't done one things to it lately. I don't comb it, I jsut throw it in a banan clip and go. I dun wanna cowash seal moisturize DC or nothing.....I gotta get back motivated. Any Tips? Lawd I'ma neva be "That Girl" with..."Ooh Girl...:ohwell:" Hair looool.

It's starting to get tangled more easily now too. Is that a sign of something? Maybe not moisturized enough?

I think I could make it look nice by wrapping it everday, but I'm afraid of the damage it might be causing since it's colder now

wow. idk, i always want to do my hair. i just washed depp conditioned and flat ironed last night and cant wait till my next wash day lol.
just think of all the compliments you'll get when that hair is swanging.

my hair is straight for the first time since august or so, so i'm all up in it...sealing with coconut oil, doing bantu knots, COMBING THROUGH IT WITHOUT DUMPING A BOTTLE OF VO5 IN IT...oh man.

deep condition it after you do a thorough detangling. wanting to be "that girl" should be enough, if you are really serious about it...

Hey!
Are you feeling like this because of your recent setback?
Don't worry, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, hair-wise as well.
You need to set yourself small goals and take it step by step. Set yourself a strict and simple regimen and stick to it.
Use your progress pics as inspiration (and other girls' progress pictures too).
You don't want to lose all the progress you have made do ya?
With a little dedication and determination you will start to see results again.
GET BACK ON TRACK GIRL :spank::bat::kick:.

yeah i always want to do my hair bc of the results i'm seeing. my hair grows super slow so sometimes i get discouraged. but i know i want to be that girl and then some. the only time i'll really slack off on my hair is when i get to my ultimate goal of bsl but i won't completely give up bc i would like to keep the hair i'm working so hard for. currently i'm still neck length so i'm always on my hair game.

Maybe you should stray away from thinking about it or trying to do too much. If you look at caring for your hair the same way you do for your skin, hair and body it will not be that big of a deal. We all know we need to brush and floss our teeth, right? Well, just keep your hair clean and conditioned and put some moisturizer on it. I mean, you can grab a jar/tube of moisturizer and put it on your hair while you watch TV. In the time you took to create this thread you could have moisturized and tied up your hair.

And there is nothing wrong with just putting it up and moving on. Combing/Detangling you hair once a week or so should be a nessessity so you don’t run into problems later. That little amount of time, will save you lots of time later when you find yourself spending way more time trying to get knots and hardcore tangles out. You don’t have to strive to me “That Girl”. Just be yourself and look at basic haircare as general personal care not to be taken too seriously.

Girl, i feel your pain. Although i hit my goal for this year, APL, my hair is not behaving. It just gets on my nerves, doesn't hang right. I try to work with it but i think it knows i'm frustrated. You just have to have a whole lotta patience. We all hit bumps in any journey. It will be okay.

I agree with HoneyDew. Girl just take a step back and dont stress over it. Don't let the trimming fiasco get you down either. I had 2 major hacks by my stylist this year which really set me back from getting to APL by my intended goal of 1 year. However, my hair is so much healthier and I achieved the goal of salon quality DIY haircare. So there's always a bright side to everything. Gotta look at the glass as half full, always. So be proud that your hair is still very healthy and will thrive. Set some new goals for yourself. There's this thing called "SMART" goals - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time-bound. Maybe a one month goal of wearing protective styles paired with a hair accessory 3-4 times a week to make you "that girl" and protect your ends at the same time can do you some good. :yep: LOL, or ok it doesn't have to be as silly as that, but you get the point. But it's simple stuff like that that may help to keep you motivated and stay on track with your hair goals and not drive yourself crazy while constantly obsessing about attaining a certain length. The length will come, but you've got to enjoy the journey along the way.

Ok sorry about the long diatribe.

Yeah, that's me 100%!!! I get so excited about wash days!!! :look:

OP, keep taking pics of your hair so you can track your progress. I draw much of my motivation from old pic's. Whenever you feel discourage look at those old damaged hair pic's!!! Your hair has made awesome progress, whenever you look at your hair think to the future!! Tell yourself how much it has improved and imagine what your progress will be 6 to 12 months from now if you keep up with your regimen!!! :yep:

I'm always trying to do something with my hair, too, so I definitely can't relate right now. But there have been times when I've felt the same way, especially when it seems like my hair isn't growing and I'm doing all of this for no reason. :wallbash: BUT, over time you will definitely see the results.

I personally would recommend you braiding your hair up and throwing a wig on. :yep: That way you can give yourself and your hair a rest and STILL look like that girl. That's why I love wigs. Whenever I get too lazy, particularly toward the end of a stretch, I braid my hair up and throw on a wig, and STILL look good. Then at night I'll take the wig off and spray the braids to moisturize my hair and grease my scalp. I would definitely recommend that for you.
