Thanks to all of you my hair is healthy and growing really nicely. Its close to my bra strap. My goal wasnt to grow my hair instead make it healthy but i guess it was a "side effect" of treat it so well /images/graemlins/tongue.gif Ne way with the growth the roots of my hair are growing and i just got a touch up but it doesnt look it. is there any way besided flat ironing it that i can make it straighter?

Off topic but glossxlipz you are such a pretty girl/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I saw your pics and you have the prettiest smile...I was like is this her or a star /images/graemlins/look.gif. I am not bi /images/graemlins/nono.gif I just like to compliment anyone that is genuinely pretty /images/graemlins/Rose.gif But to answer your question I think if you get a good leave in and do a roller wrap it might come out straight for you. Maybe lacio lacio it has gotten some good raves on the boards. Some others may have some ideas......

Well what you could try instead of flatironing is a good rollerset, but then your hair will have more volume than being straight. The secret to achieving super straight roots with a rollerset is to use bobby pins (the needles not clips) and make sure every roller is very tight.

What I do is blow drying my hair with a big round brush. When your hair is damp you have to blowdry section by section starting with your nape area. After you are finished with your whole head you can wrap your hair and it will come out very straight and silky smooth:-)

I actually like the blowdrying or rollerset technique better than flat ironing because I believe that as long your hair is wet you can form it into any shape YOU want.

I agree with atl. You are such a a pretty girl (and pretty hair too). Nay's suggestion is what I would do. I just hit my roots with a shot from the blow dryer...VIOLA!!

I agree, she is absolutely gorgeous!
Glossy, why don't you get a blow out once in a while? If your afraid of the heat do it only when u want a straight, sleek look /images/graemlins/smile.gif

aww thanks everyone for the kind compliments!! sure made my day ya'll so nice. NAy it is true about shaping ur hair when it is damp. i notice my hair no matter what i do, will always go back to the shape it dried in. thats why i have to be sure when i dry it, its in a way i want it to end up ( does that make ne sense?) i am going to go back to roller setting. i love the bouncyness but i have a hard time doing it because i have alot of hair and my arms get tired. but i like how it looks. flat ironing makes it too straight for me.

You and your hair are very pretty! I remember on the another thread we were looking for a type 2 on this board...but none had pics...I think you might be a type 2?

thanks fpr the compliment. You all know how to make a girl feel so special. haha i tried to figure out what i was on the chart thinggy and i never got it so i gave up trying. If anyone has the same hair texuture as me let me know i would love to have a hair buddy.

BTW good luck to everyone this weekend in nyc. I heard it might be yucky this weekend with rain. My hair is beginning to act up already. I was caught on 34th st last night in the rain with no umbrella!!!! /images/graemlins/angry2.gif I dont plan to bother my with my hair this weekend at all. Imma let it be as frizzy as it wanna be.

I just started taking care of my hair so i have nothing down as of yet. I know my hair ADORES Nexxus products. Anything i use from the line my hair loves. I started taking Biotin ( i noticed my nails growing since taking this so i guess my hair is growing as well?) and Cod liver oil ( i heard it is good for the hair and it boosts the immune system)

Latley ive been

Using Jojoba Oil as a pre shampoo oil treatment
Shampooing with Cream of Nature Shampoo
Conditioning with Nexxus Humectress and Keraphix
Deep Condition with Salerm 21 or Miss KEys 10 en 1
Before I would just let it air dry then flat iron it but now i roller set my hair. When i do that i try not to put too much in my hair because then the curls wont last long. I just put Kenra daily leave it, and i use Lottabody as a setting lotion. It takes me an hour and a half to dry my hair under the dryer.... /images/graemlins/cry3.gif after i do that i just add very little shea butter oil then i wrap it. All this might change as time goes on tho. hehe
